When applying through TMDSAS, will choosing the available MBA, PhD, MPH programs increase or worsen my chances of being accepted?

Some of these programs sound interesting so I would be interested in selecting them, especially if they help increase my chances of getting accepted. However, if makes getting an acceptance more difficult, then I'd rather avoid those programs, since getting an MD is my main goal.

The combined degree programs have very different priorities when selecting applicants compared to MD programs. When you apply to them, the MD admissions game you know and love changes pretty dramatically. MD/PhD admissions, for example, are much more similar to grad school admissions than med school admissions in terms of what they look at and want.

Applying to such a program can either increase or hurt your chances depending on your application. If you've been focused on MD-only admissions up till now though, I'd be very surprised if you had anything other than a weak application for combined degree programs. Applying on a whim to these programs with no other reason than "it might be interesting" almost certainly ensures a success rate bordering on zero.
