So we are hours away from the start of the Texas prematch period. Does anyone know how we check to see if we prematched? Do we log into TMDSAS randomly after midnight to see or is there a standardized email that goes out to people with prematch offers? Also, do they typically let us know if we prematched around midnight or is it a business hour type of thing (like II's)? Thanks.
Sooooo if utsw didn't send me an email at midnight, then there's a chance I'm wait listed? I know they try to fill their class via prematch... just wondering!
It varies from school to school, but the most typical pattern is for schools to send pre-match acceptances to their very top picks on 11/15, then 'batch' smaller groups of pre-match acceptances through December or so as later-interview candidates are evaluated and 'I got a better offer' responses trickle in. Then there's a lull in January after the pre-match period and before February's match.
Congratulations to all of yesterday's acceptees. You're going to medical school! (And furthermore, you're somebody's top pick -- enjoy it.)
For those still waiting, the game is still very far from over. If you've got something update-worthy, plan one update letter for those schools who like them for delivery ~ two weeks before the match. It may or may not help, but will at least let you know you gave it your best shot.
