Hey guys,

I just got accepted into an SMP program and I wanted to know whether I should attend or not. And u guys can be as honest/brutal as you want.

I have a 3.0 GPA with a 21 AA, 22TS, 19Rc and 19PAT

The only reason people attend an SMP is to increase their chances of getting into a top notch dental school. With my stats, I KNOW I'll get in somewhere, it's just a matter of where. My SMP is going to cost me $45,000 and I'm currently debt free 🙂

Should I attend and accumalate debt or just get a job and wait for a year?

No offense bro, as a fellow slacker (3.02 GPA), I wouldn't say you're a shoo-in.

I think you need to work on your GPA. Why not work on an informal post-bac? You can take some upper level science classes at a local college/university as a non-degree seeking student.

I've applied and waiting to hear from masters programs. The other option is to take classes at a local college. Obviously taking classes via post bacc would be quite a bit cheaper, and you could just do a semester unlike the masters where u have to do the whole year.

What do you guys think is better option? I want to know your guys thought process if you were in this position.

If you still are in college I would absolutely recommend doing SMP for a summer!
