Hey!

So my semester is coming to a close right now and I took gen chem 1, I pretty solidly have a C/C+ unfortunately, not as easy as I remember it being in HS. My university has a policy if you get a C or higher you cant retake..meaning that C is stuck on my university transcript. My question is, I still have gen chem 2 take and I think I will do better, when time comes to apply will a C look bad? Should I retake it at a community college so there's a better grade when plugging my grades into the system? Is it worth it? Or should I keep the C and do flawlessly in the rest of my pre-reqs? (I still have quite a few to go)

Hell no man I made 8 prereq c's and I'm still getting an interview. If you have a good gre and good gpa in the end, mainly prereq, then you'll get in somewhere.

Sent from my iPhone using SDN Mobile app I will accept any pt school at this point. I cannot sleep

Ive got C's in both Chemistrys, everything else is A and B's. Just curious, where did you get an interview with 8 C's? And was your GRE super high? I have an average GRE score, gonna apply this cycle and am curious about other people getting in with C grades like me.

I got a c in biology 1, anatomy 1, physics 1, had some W's, and got a c in chemistry 2. I also made c's in both anatomy labs. okay so 6, not eight. But that still looks really bad in its own context. However, if you look at my transcript, I did better in the # 2 of all these classes. My major was kinesiology and I made good grades in it, so that may have been a plus. I thought i had a great GRE, but now I feel like it's only average, just better than most people I talked to with higher GPA's. I got a 1040. Well, 2 weeks ago I applied for readmission into my old college, because I only have 1 school left to hear from, SBU. I haven't registered for those classes yet. Then all of a sudden, yesterday morning, USA san marcos gives me the invitation via email. I was kinda sad because I told myself I didn't want to get in because I researched the reality of the rediculous tuition. So now I'm faced with having to send them a committment for the may 11 interview ( flying from Louisiana to San diego), still waiting on SBU to accept or reject me( their tuition is like 60k, which is alot cheaper than USA ), AND coming close to needing to move 30 minutes away to retake those prereqs at my old college. I have lots of **** going on, so much **** that USA almost sounds worth it ( not having to redo my entire PTCAS application )...so yea, with that said, I have a few good EC and 180 clinical hours, but I don't have high GPAs and they still invited me. So good luck =)

Some schools may allow you to substitute a higher level chemistry class. If your C grade is in CHE 110, you could take CHE 210 and that grade would then count. You would need to check out the retake policies for different schools.

If you don't mind me asking what was your stats? As of your pre-req and overall GPA ?? Im pretty much in your same boat and just looking for some motivation from other peers with similar stats!!
