Hello!

I plan on retaking the DAT in November and was wondering if I need to still send in my old scores now? My application is finished, and I really want to just tell the schools that I will be submitting the November scores. I didn't have enough time to study for the DAT the first time around.

Any ideas welcome.

i would personally take the dat before novermber, that is actually pretty late. i took it in october and i think i barely made the cutoffs for most schools, in terms of them realistically accepting me. but ya, go ahead and submit it. that shouldn't be a problem.

Submit it as early as possible. You can indicate in AADSAS you intend to retest and when you will do so. Unless your existing DAT scores are adequate, your application will typically be put on hold until you retake. If you retake in November then you will likely be too late for a Dec 1 acceptance as ADA takes three weeks to send out scores, then you need an interview, and a subsequent adcom meeting and admissions decision squeezed around Thanksgiving. This is a tight timeline. You might want to move your DAT up.

Are you writing the Canadian dat? If not then you should take it sooner. I know some schools "recommend" that you take it the october of the year prior to matriculation.

yes I will be taking the Canadian DAT. I knew some people that took the DAT in November and still got accepted. The question is, which scores should I send? both?
