I had two interviews so far-- with UT-Memphis and Ohio State. Both schools never got back with me to notify me of the acceptance/rejection, so I ended up e-mailing and calling them up. I interviewed with Memphis in Nov. 2007, and they said I was put on "hold" file and that they wouldn't make any decision until they receive my fall grades. and now, I just had an interview with OSU, and I realized many students were already getting notified of their acceptance. Since it is a long weekend, I figured I should call to find out what's going on with the admission process-- and I was told that my file has been put on a "hold" due to a low science GPA (2.99). and that the admissions commi. won't decide until they receive my winter quarter grades. which also means that nothing will be there until at the end of march.

I should be thankful for not being rejected right away, but at the same time, I really am not too thrilled about waiting another 3-4 months for the answer.

anyway, I just wanted to vent, and wanted to see if anyone else was going to through the same thing..

Im not going through exactly the same thing, but I did apply to UT Memphis, and recieved an email inviting me to fill out a secondary app. Im just waiting to recieve an email inviting me to an interview. If you dont mind could you give me a timeline with UT Memphis, howlong after submitting your app did it take for them to invite you to do the secondary app, and after that to be interviewed? Thanks! 🙂

Wow, on hold AFTER the interview? that is pretty ridiculous! To me it sounds like you are being BSed, I think it's a pretty well known fact that once you get your interview you're no longer evaluated based on your academic performance, but instead how well you interview... hmmm doesn't make much sense to me

At first I was like, "why was i even invited for an interview if the school cannot flat out tell me i am in or out?".. but i guess i didn't do well enough in the interview to convince the admissio. commit. that I was good enough to get in. but then they didn't think i should be rejected because they offered the interview in the first place?? i dunno. maybe I will get rejected at the end anyway.. as of right now, I just want to get A's in my classes this quarter so that I can prove that I am not as dumb as some science professors think i am...not that getting A's before graduating will do any good. but at least I can give it a try.... 😳
