After reading about all these posters who apply to 10+ schools, I'm starting to think that I'm taking a huge risk by only applying to one. I'm thinking about tacking on a few "back-ups" just in case my first choice gives me the big R. Is it too late to apply to NYU & BU? And more importantly, do you think I'd even have a chance at these schools with the following stats?
Undergrad Ed: Biology (w/ a minor in Chemistry) @ Virginia Tech
Cumulative Undergrad. GPA: 3.52
Science Undergrad. GPA: 3.45
1st DAT:
Academic ave- 18
Percept- 16
Quant. Reasoning- 14
Reading Comp- 21
Bio- 19
Gen Chem- 18
Org. Chem- 16
Total Sci- 18
Extracurricular/Research Activities: Red Cross dental assistant training course, volunteer dental assistant @ a free clinic for ~50 hours, shadowed 3 general dentists and a pediatric dentist for ~20 hours total, Pre-Dental Club, Biology Club, Vietnamese Student Association, Filipino American Student Association.

If not NYU & BU, what other schools would you suggest as a good back-up choice? I am a VA resident.
