Hi all, I need help and advice regarding podiatric school application. I am post-bacc student at University of Pittsburgh and I did not really look into podiatry until recently. Amazingly I found that this is very close to what I want to do, espcially the sports medicine/orthopedic track. I have not shadowed a DPM, but my dad is an orthopedic surgeon in Asia who dealt mostly with knee joints. I am planning on applying to medical school for the fall 2009 class this summer, then I realize the application season is still not over for DPM for Fall 2008. I would actually prefer to go to a podiatry school than a ostepathic school. Should I take a shot at applying this late in the process? /or wait till next application cycle. I have a 28 MCAT (10PS, 10VB, 8BS), and a 3.5 Post bacc GPA (mostly science courses), and 2.6 udergrad GPA in engineering. I have a good 2+ years of research and 1 year of volunteering. Please help, thanks!
