it would probably be a waste of money to apply now. most schools i think require the dat to be taken by now. save your money and apply in the spring. plus if you have to take the dat again youll be screwed for this cycle.

Hummm....I sense that you're actually pre-med and getting a little nervous because all your buddies have interviews and you don't.

I'd say, yes you're a little late. Especially to get all the letters of recommendation specific for Dental school.

Do you know what happens on December 1st??

I wouldn't - it takes 4 weeks for aadses to send out your app ONCE IT"S COMPLETED. Really if you submit everything tomorrow including all your transcripts and reference letters and personal statement, etc., it will be mid-january before the schools get your application. That's quite late. I'm taking the dat in Dec too but my app hasbeen in since Aug. And I think my chances are quite slim as it is.

I would wait till next cycle. An extra year really isn't the end of the world and you would probably waste a grand or so if you do it now.

I'd say save your money and wait until next year. Like everyone has said, it will take at least 4 weeks to have your application processed and that's if you are lucky. That's not even considering transcripts and getting those verified....Good luck on your DAT though!! 👍

Exactly. The application deadline for many school is Dec 1 or Dec 15. You'll be severely limiting the number of schools you can apply to.

The answer to your question is, DON'T APPLY NOW. you are soooo late in the game, it it were a few years back you could pull it off with good DAT score. But this year there are a lot of applicants who have 20+ and good GPA's, even dental schools are amazed this year. I had two interviews so far and in both schools the number of applicants was TWICE as many as last years, so you can imagine how hard it would be to stand out as a good applicant while you are wayyyy late. So, do it next year.

i say if you've got the resources (ie money and time to risk, app supplements) and strong enough stats, go for it.
theres many school who accept apps until march.
however i would submit aadsas immediately; u can always forward everything else later on to the schools.
