Hey Guys!

I'm kind of in a weird situation. Recently just decided this is for sure what I want to do (finally got over the MD vs. DO vs. DPM) and couldn't be happier with my decision. As I was going to apply to MD/DO I wasn't planning on applying this cycle but now that I've changed my mind I'm thinking why not? I have pretty good stats, good ECs, and am an URM. The schools that I'm looking at primarily are AZPod and the Cal schools. My question is do I have a shot applying this cycle? Or should I just wait till the next? I know this is the very end of the window and just wanted to get some general opinions!

What are your stats? I think priority admission ended today, but you still may have a shot somewhere depending on your numbers. AZPod, Western, and Samuel Merritt all have fairly small class sizes (AZPod especially, I think theirs is 24), so it might be a lot tougher to get a seat in one of those schools this late in the cycle.

I think if you want to try to get in this cycle, your best bet is to apply broadly to schools with larger class sizes (Scholl, Kent State, Temple).

I would suggest calling your top schools. You can ask about their vacant slots and talk to the admissions about your stats. You can then weigh out the benefits of applying this cycle or the next.

GOOD LUCK!

If AZPod's class size is 24, they are probably just about full at this point. I saw an email showing it was over 20. Dont take my word though, give them a call for sure!

Your best bet is not one of your "top" schools. At this point, you'll need to look at the schools Scholl and east to find a seat easily.

if you apply next cycle you will probably get a lot more scholarship money 😀
