I am in India doing a dental internship. I get back in a week or so. I have tried working on my application while I was here, but I haven't gotten around to finishing it. Is this considered too late? I will still need 2 weeks before I can completely submit my application. 🙁 😕

I think you'll still be fine if you still need another 2 weeks to submit your application. So far, only one batch of mailings has been sent out, and if you still submit in July, you're not considered late. You also have to take into consideration your GPA, DAT, etc. If they are above average, you will not have as big a problem.

Yeah, as long as you submit the App by Aug 1st you're still considered early. You probably will still be able to get in on the first round of interviews, and definitely the second.

what happens if you apply after august 1st?

Speaking as someone who applied on November 17th, if you apply after Aug 1st, it gets less likely that you'll be in on the first round of interviews. All of my interviews were like in the third round of interviews because I applied so late, and by that time most of the schools had already given out the vast majority of their seats. Luckily I still got accepted at a number of schools, but the moral of the story is to apply early!

well the problem right now is that AADSAS is being slow as hell in mailing out the apps....I was verified 6/29 and still haven't been mailed out, it has me worried...

Eh, don't worry, it just takes a while to mail it out, and imagine the back log that they have because everyone applies early. It took them over two weeks to mail mine out, and that was on December 3rd!

You will be fine! I have not finished my application as well, I plan to finish it within the next 2 weeks as well. Good luck!

Like Vicviper pointed out, submitting your application in August is generally considered the transition between early and late applications. If you look on any dental school's website, it encourages you to apply as soon as possible. Many even state that the best time to apply is in June/July. The later you submit your application, the more students you're competing with and the more competition you'll be facing, and the less likely your chances are for interview invitations.

Thank you so much guys! I think I will have my app done before the end of this month. I know I took more than just 2 weeks 🙁 but oh well what can you do! thanks for your positive advice 🙂
