I've been posting a while on SDN with my problems, but I guess this post really consolidates my worries.

I just completed my first year of college.

I essentially took too many science classes in my freshman year of college. I had bad advising and I thought it'd be ok to take a lot of science classes. However, I screwed up and did badly in them. I thought I was doing fine, but apparently not...

I took 5 classes and 3 labs. I got 2 C+s, 3 Cs, and 3 B-s.

As you can probably guess my science GPA is very very low...

What does anyone recommend to rectify the situation?

I believe that I'm at the position where retaking is not "needed" per se. However, I will retake some classes I guess, but I really don't want to retake that many. Will taking higher level classes and doing well in them prove that I can handle hard core science material?

Any advice is appreciated.

Good you realized your mistake. You have 2 years to bring that GPA up. You can do it. No need to retake any lower courses. Do well in upper level sciences and you should be fine.

Thanks for the response.

Any other ideas? Also what do you think about retaking the classes I got Cs in?

If you get As in upper level bios, they will offset the Cs. So donot worry about the Cs. Rock the upper levels. Probably take a lighter course load for next 2-3 years/semester (i.e. take 3-4 course or take as many that will keep you a FT student at ur Uni). They wont care if you take a lighter course as long as you have all As and bring that GPA up.
