Take a look at the PHARMCAS school page listings... It wont tell you them all, and the numbers are not up to date - but at least it will give you an idea of what your working with...

he said the top easiest schools not the top hardest ones!

i heard that school in chicago is easier than most to get into. you should also look at new programs ie: Touro. The newer they are, they less people know about them.

haha ucsf....thats one of the hardest...they probably only accept 5 students each year. lol

bunch of comedians....nice.... 😀

I heard nevada is easy, but I looked at the recent stats and the average gpa there is 3.7 so I'm guessing it's not so easy.

I've looked around and honestly. I do not believe there are any schools that are easier to get into then others because of the shear number of applicants.

I tried to narrow down easy schools by population density per state. What i found out is that states with a low population density accept less students, normally around 60. States with large population density accept around 180 students. Applicants for large states tend to be around 800 while applicants for smaller states tend to be around 500. So that pretty much evens out. One thing they all have in common is a 3.5 average gpa.

the only way to make the schools "appear easy" is if you are overqualify--above avg stats and doin more than you should.

so if the avg is 3.5, get a 3.6+.
if the PCAT avg is 80, get a 85+

then the schools will be a LITTLE easier

I had the impression that at UWyo they looked more at you than your numbers. The credentials analyst I spoke to gave me a very distinct idea that the gpa doesnt always make the person.

Which is good, because this being my first semester full time since i was 18, I haven't been doing so well. 🙁

UCSF is one of the hardest!

In terms of academics
MCPHS isn't easy to get into - they might accept more people because they are the largest pharmacy school in the country
USN isn't easy to get into either - except for the fact that they are new

I heard Hampton and Howard has lower standards as compared with other pharmacy schools...my friend got in both Hampton and Howard with a 3.3 last year

There is a chart from 2004 (listed in the pharmacy FAQ's by Banana) that lists many of the pharmacy schools enrollment stats including mean GPA, application to acceptance ratio etc... According to the numbers UCSF is not one of the hardest schools to get into nor is USN one of the easiest.......

This list is a tad old as it lists the mean GPA of USN at 3.6, last year it was 3.7 (2005), and this year I understand it was a tad higher...In 2004 USCF and USC both had an mean GPA around 3.45. Western having the lowest GPA at Science-3.15 and Cumm 3.24.....Westerns acceptance ratio is pretty good as well.

No pharmacy school is "easy", but some have very high mean GPAs and scary application to acceptance ratios. Check out the chart. There is a page where the 2005 stats are listed for the Pharmcas schools in the FAQs as well.

According to the ACPE, Howard is listed as having probationary status for the 06-07 school year. Might want to check their website:

USN is one of the easiest schools in the sense that nearly everything is based on your academic record. The school assigns you points on the basis of your GPA and other academic aspects and gives interviews to those with the highest number of points. If you have an extremely high GPA and a very strong academic background, you are practically guaranteed an interview. After that, it's about your interview skills.

Yes, I would agree with this. If you have a strong GPA, a degree and have completed most of your pre-reqs then you are pretty much going to be granted an interview...but that would be true for almost any pharmacy school.... 😉

USN has a streamlined application process...No dealing with PharmCAS 🙂 , no hassling with LOR's(double 🙂 ), and they do not require PCAT (neither does any CA school by the way).

They are very strong on academics and how you performed on your pre-req classes when they consider who to grant an interview to. During the interview you are on your own and must display outstanding communication skills, motivation and overall dedication to the field of pharmacy.

I have friends that did not even get an interview this year with USN and they have degrees (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and 3.4ish GPA's..try telling them that USN is an easy school to get into. However, they did get interviews with Western, Madison, UCSF and Touro (between the 2 of them). 👍

During my interview, it seemed like everyone I talked to had a degree and at least a 3.8 GPA. Sounds like a piece of cake to me..... 🙄 🙂

Lab Rat,
I am a current student at uwyo sop. If you think 5-600 apps for 52 positions is a good ratio-1:10 to get in, they interview ~120 1:5 you get an interview and if you do ~1:2 that you get in. That was last year. The year before they had 350 or so ~1:6 to get in, 120 interview 1:3 you get an interview and then 1:2 you get in if you do. This next year they are expecting 800-1000 apps for the same 52 spots 1:15-1:20 you get in, ~120 interview again 1:8 to 1:10 for an interview and then 1:2 you get in from there.

What I am trying to show is that even a little podunk school in BFE Wyoming has a ton of applicants. All pharmacy schools are hard to get into, it is becoming like med school, like physical therapy was ten years ago, and like how 4 year nursing programs currently are. People know medicine is going to be great for the next 50 years with the baby boomers so they are signing up.

My point you ask? No matter how hard your undergrad work is always stive for the best grades. Study for the PCAT for 2-3 months prior 2-3hrs/week and do well there too. With this many people applying you have to stand out in a big crowd. Wear a bright pink shirt or tie to your interview so you will be remembered from a crowd of 120 others dressed in black, gray and blue.*joking*.

Everyone is being sarcastic about USC, but is it really that hard? It's got a 5:1 application to enrollment ratio. The gpa is around 3.4, which doesn't seem unreasonably high. Am I missing something?

Southern Cal is Southern Cal. It's as hard to get into as anywhere else. Californians are like the New Englanders of the West. Everything is "more prestigious" because they say so.

hey
I'm a belgian student and I'm looking for an U.S.university.
Can you help me and tell me which of these university are the best, the hardest,... 😳 thank you 🙂
-Santa clara
-B. Cardozo (NY)
-Boston university
-GoldenGate (San fransisco)
-USF
-Franklin Pierce
-J.Marshall (Chicago)
-UCLA

Aren't USN and USC state schools? Which state schools have preference for their residents? MY state doesn't have one, so I have only applied to private schools for this reason. Am I missing some of these public schools that don'thave a preferene?

Are you talking about Pharmacy schools? I know for sure that John Marshall only offers law degrees.

I don't hear too much talk about Purdue on these boards, according to the sticky it doesn't look too hard to get into. Then again I might be the only Loosier on these boards.

Looks like you can get into pharmacy school with 3.0 and good PCAT score. 85+, am I right or wrong.
