The cd expired before I even got to (@!#~! use it.

Now all I have is the ADA sample test in the book and the cd kaplan tests to prepare me. And my test is on friday! Sucks to be me!

was topscore really helpful in doing well on the dat, or was it just important in getting your timing down? Because I am so angry right now.

Don't be too angry. It's not a good way to prepare for your DAT by using the topscore cd only a few days before. As there are lots of materials to cover. And there are lots of stricky questions about taxonomy that will make you even more anxious.
It's the kind of materials that you want to do over and over again about 2 months before your test. So, just say that you lost 40 bucks, but don't be angry so much. Concentrate on the kaplan book and you will do well. This is a lesson for you. Next time you'll read before you buy and copy whatever you have to make sure that it will not expire before your test.

I guess I should have read the fine print. But it just seems more logical to me that the test would expire in 7 months from the time I upload the cd rather than the time I buy it. Oh well.

It might be for the best. I dont want to get overwhelmed. Hopefully the 2 Kaplan tests and the ada sample test are all I need for a good score!

If you still want to use it, just access a computer that does not have the program installed, change the date on the computer to a date that the program was functional still, and then install the program on the computer.

I tried the same method before, changing the dates, but it didn't work for me. I e-mailed topscore and complained (mine expired within 6 months), and it was 3 days before the actual exam. Topscore sent me another software (via email) the next day, and I extended my test date for more practice...i think it's well worth it.

And you did it on a computer that didn't have the software installed? You have to use a different computer..

Topscore gave me an extension. thank heavens! Okay, now my blood pressure is back to normal levels.

I remember someone said using linux to copy the whole thing out to another cd, then you can use it forever.
I'm not sure if it worked, but the guy told me it worked for him

I read somewhere in the fine print that they will give you an extension if you call the Topscore people... for free. You just need your receipt with the date on it.
