What is the medicolegal reality in Australia? I know that NZ has No Fault System, but AUS decided not to adopt it. Does this mean that they practice defensive medicine in AUS just like US? I have a friend of mind who works as an emergency physician at a tertiary care center in AUS. He states that since he's working for a public hospital (as opposed to private ones), he has a kind of sovereign immunity against medical lawsuits. Is he correct? Thank you for information!
