Hallo! I recently got off the waitlist at Georgetown, but am PTE'd at Ohio State. I really like everything about Georgetown, but really tough to make the decision in a week. I am pretty committed to pursuing med/peds, and ideally would like to match in Boston!
Ohio State:
Pros:
- chill culture, everyone at second look was happy and balanced work/play.
- strong med/peds residency program
- close to family
- instate tuition + tiny scholarship
- p/f clerkships technically
- lots of research (tier 1)
Cons:
- in Columbus
- internal rank
- quite big, humongous undergrad
Georgetown:
Pros:
- DC! lots of health policy opportunities, previous connections from 2 summer internships in DC
- curriculum: health equity clerkship, cura personalis, independent progject
- Health Justice pathway: lots of health law intersection
- no internal rank
- stronger brank/name/clout? lowkey for internal prestige and clout from family/people not in medicine
Cons:
- tuition
- more expensive cost of living
- heard that curriculum is kinda disorganized: some ppl have to take 5th year cuz of step 1 issues (lower pass rate)
