Has anyone heard back from Touro yet? The supplementary application said decisions will be made late october/early november. Although I know previous years they were sent out late november. Just wondering if anyone got an email back yet.

Hey! I emailed Michael and he said that admissions committee decided to push it back and meet on the 15th of November. He said he would most likely be sending decision notices on the 16th.

I just did! Sounds like their PT program is on probation as of 10/31. I think that explains why we haven’t heard decisions yet.

You got email on decisions? I got the probation email too though.
No email on decisions. Just the probation email. They probably won’t (nor should they) make decisions until this situation gets figured out.

I was told some decisions will be emailed out today and tomorrow. I'm sure acceptances will go out first. So if you don't hear back any time soon, it could mean waitlist.

Hmm.
Idk what to make of the email other than there is a possibility they may not pass CAPTE’s accreditation standards..
Of course, every program undergoes a similar situation every 10 years?

I agree. Also, not knowing until April of the status of the probation is sketchy, especially it only being a few months before the program starts.

Are you accepting? Or also still waiting for other schools?

Does anyone know how the waitlist system works? Since it’s rolling admissions will we not hear anything back until after the Jan 15 deadline date?

From an open house, Mr. Wilson said that they fill their cohort before the deadline. Since TUN sends admissions early, they typically expect accepted students to deny their seat later in the cycle once they are offered a seat at another university. From there, they start pulling from the waitlist beginning 1/15 (because that's when the deposit is due) and review new applications as they arrive. So you could hear back from them between then and up to a week/days before classes. He's had that happen one time in the past and financial aid had to rush the student's awards within a few days.

Hope this helped!

Just got an email notifying me that I was waitlisted, hoping for good news come January!

I'm a student at TUN let me know if you guys have questions I can help with.

I accepted my offer and Mr. Wilson said that the DPT 2022 Class President would make a Facebook group so that all the new students in our cohort could meet online and talk - has anyone heard anything about whether this group has been made?

Hello! I also accepted. I am in the group, but there are only 10 people in the group so far - which includes a few people from the 2021 cohort.

I know this is an old thread, but I just got accepted to Touro Nevada class of 2023 and I was wondering what you guys think of the program? I am going to try to get out there to visit it before I make a decision but I figured I would reach out to other students first! Thanks.

Congrats! Yes, this is an old thread. I couldn't find a newer thread pertaining to our class of 2023 either. I haven't heard back yet, but do you mind sharing when you applied and your stats? To answer your question, I think the school is friendly and possess everything a student needs to graduate/pass boards. I appreciate the great communication Nancy has given me throughout the application process.

Hi yes! I sent in the PTCAS application around the last week of August, and I sent the supplemental application in mid November. As far as stats I had a 149 verbal, 154 quant. and 4.5 writing. Prerequisite Gpa varies but cumulative was 3.61! And I have 500+ observation hours in 4 different settings.

Hello, I just found out about Touro University in Nevada today.
As I've been reading everyones post, I might be late in applying. The website states that the deadline is Jan 15, 2020.

Suggestions?!?

It is rolling admissions so the earlier the better. But it never hurts to try since it is still before the deadline! I received my acceptance to the program early December. Hopefully we hear some good news from you as well.

Did you go ahead and apply? Any updates from the school if you did?

Hi just wondering, any updates if they're still accepting/adding to your current cohort? I had applied beginning of January and am eagerly waiting for an update on the application process.

Unfortunately I have no idea. Only the admissions and faculty would know and I think the wait list email had stated not to reach out to them about your spot on the wait list. Just have to be optimistic and patient!

Hello! I've been accepted at TUN and had some questions!
What do you like/dislike about the program? Anything unique about the program? How are the professors while interacting with students? How is the area surrounding the school? Do you room with other students and how convenient is the location of the apartments to campus?

Sorry for all the questions! I'm trying to decide on two schools, this being one of them!

Hey! I’m heading there next week to check out the campus. Have you already visited? Hoping to provide some feedback and answers for others as well, I know I’m in the same boat as you with questions and trying to make a decision.

Hey, I hope you like the program! I actually declined my spot at the program and chose another program only on the basis of cost since I didn’t have the opportunity to visit either school.

I wrote this in the 2023 thread as well but...

Hello everyone!

I'm on the executive board for Touro Nevada's DPT class of 2022. We've created a Facebook group and are trying to populate it as we receive the names of students who have submitted their deposit. It's a little harder for us to find you if your name is common so below is a link to the group, or you can search Facebook for "Touro University Nevada DPT Class of 2023". Thanks and can't wait to meet you all!

Hi,

Has anyone gotten an email regarding financial aid, immunizations, physical, etc.?

I paid the deposit a couple weeks ago and wondering when they will start sending that stuff out.

Hi,

I paid the deposit a couple weeks ago and wondering when they will start sending that stuff out.

I got the email about financial aid this Monday, March 2.
I did not receive any other email regarding immunizations, physical, transcripts, etc yet.
DM me if you have other questions!
