Everything I have heard from my faculty colleagues about Touro and NYMC is that the latter school suffered a massive hit to its research program when people bailed in droves.

I classify NYMC in the same class as Drexel and Albany.

You'll have more career door open by going to NYMC vs the any DO school

I have a low opinion on Touro-NY. Do a search as to why.

Is that in reference to the 2011 purchase?

Yeah.

From my understanding NYMC was hemorrhaging money for years before the Touro takeover, mainly due to having one particular hospital in NJ that was a losing money. At that time NYMC was owned by the Catholic archdiocese of NY. A friend of mine said the "even the Catholic Church couldn't save them!"
