MWU IL- 9 years old
-I loved MWU IL and I was really impressed by their clinical program.
-I don't really have anything negative to say here because the environment on my interview day was so inviting/friendly.
-No relatives

Touro- 4 years old
- I don't hear much about their clinical program and I always hear "it's graduating it's first class this year, no network opportunities, etc."
-Their patient pool still seems like a mystery (no one can really give me a definitive answer on how easy/hard it is to get patients)
-Unfortunately, there were no students in the clinic or sim lab during my interview day, so I didn't even get a chance to see what their day was like
-I had a tour with empty rooms, which is why I probably wasn't as excited after my interview because I didn't get a chance to really see/talk to the students
-1 relative nearby

I know both schools care about their students and faculty is friendly, so that's a plus.
Cost is relatively similar in my situation, MWU IL might be a tad bit more expensive (but cost is not an issue).

Where would you go and WHY?

Some perspective on Touro as an incoming D1..

No established specialty programs at Touro means you'll be exposed to a wider variety of cases that you might not get at many other schools.
-Their patient pool still seems like a mystery (no one can really give me a definitive answer on how easy/hard it is to get patients)
A couple current D4's have said you'll have no trouble getting patients as long as you put in the effort. The school is also proactive in making sure you complete your requirements on time.

No doubt that Touro is a very new school and so you have to be more proactive in getting the dental education you want. Overall, if cost isn't a factor, just go with your gut and choose the place you see yourself enjoying the most, since you'll be spending a good chunk of time there.

I had the same exact choice to make between Midwestern-Il, Case, and Touro and in the end I chose Touro! I have talked to three dental students from Touro and despite not even having a clinic their first few years they are on target to graduate on time. They are just as much as technologically advanced as Midwestern. I think they have a very stable and grounded foundation so even if its a new school I think there is a lot of potential there. Shoot me a message if you have any other questions, I will be an incoming D1 there by the way

I went to MWU-IL and loved it there. I got to work closely with specialists and feel comfortable doing everything by the time I was done with school. If cost is not an issue, I'd recommend this school to everybody. XD
