No dice. Key word TICKET. We're you arrested? Did you have to go to court? I highly doubt it.

Poor answer, see my post above.

Minors in California may be required to attend court - for a simple traffic violation.

You should call your local PD

I called the circuit court clerk's office for every traffic ticket I received and the clerk looked up my ticket info to confirm if it was/was not a misdemeanor. None of them were (as I suspected) but it felt good to have solid proof before submitting.

Ok I was thinking parking ticket, NVM I stand corrected

I have a similar concern, I got a jaywalking ticket when I was 16 at my high school. I have barely any memory of it but I do remember having to go to court and plead guilty and pay a fine. Does that fact that I went to court mean that it was in fact a misdemeanor? This was in california around ~2009 or 2010. I spent $5 to search local court records and didn't find anything with my name on it, but as I have seen before, this doesn't mean it won't show up in a background check.

Not likely, most CA traffic offenses are not misdemeanors.

If it was a more serious offense like DUI or Hit-and-Run, then yes.

I suggest referring to http://www.californiatrafficdefenders.com/misdemeanor-traffic-offenses.html and seeing if your ticket was for one of these offenses. If not, then it will not be on your background check.

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. I figured it wouldn't be a misdemeanor because it was a speeding ticket. Also, in California I believe traffic school isn't offered for misdemeanors
