Hi everyone - I have a bit of a strange question.

I just received a call from a vet school inquiring about my undergraduate transcript.

My graduation/last classes taken were 8 months apart from when my degree was actually issued. She wanted to know why I didn't inquire with my college about the time span or if I actually had taken further classes that I chose not to include.

We went around and around with me just basically saying I'm not sure why it took so long and how I had not even noticed the issuing date.

But now I'm afraid the conversation has cost me an interview.
Has anyone else been issued their degree long after their graduation? Is my school just lagging?

Thanks

I would speak to your undergraduate institution about why there is a discrepancy. If the fault lies with the undergrad school, I would relay that information to the vet school to which you are applying. I am not aware of any situation in which schools "lag" in issuing degrees. Did you potentially have any type of hold on issuing a degree (money owed, an incomplete class, etc)?

How did you leave it with the admissions person? I would absolutely follow up with your undergrad and ask about the discrepancy and then relay that to the vet school person. You may also want to include something from UG saying no further classes were taken in that time period or something similar.
