Hey all,

This might be a dumb question... but how are you guys getting your transcripts mailed/sent to PTCAS? On the transcript request form from PTCAS it asks the registrar to enclose that form along with an official transcript. However, all the schools I went to send transcripts via "Credentials Inc." I can mail in a request, but it will take 3 - 5 weeks to process before they will mail it to PTCAS. Will PTCAS accept transcripts sent by "Credentials Inc.?" If I order my transcript from "Credentials Inc.," how will PTCAS receive my PTCAS transcript request form? How are you guys sending in your transcripts?

Yes, PTCAS will accept your transcripts from 3rd party transcript companies. In many cases, these companies ask you at the end if you need any forms attached to your transcripts. There, you may upload a scanned copy of your form. If not, you can go to your registrar's office and request your transcripts to be sent to PTCAS in person.

To be honest, I pretty much ignored PTCAS's request for those forms to be mailed out with transcripts :/. All I did was put my PTCAS ID in the ATTN section of the mailing address to PTCAS, e.g. "ATTN: PTCAS ID xxx...".

I went to 2 diff. schools.
One of the schools I am pretty sure also uses credential inc. I went online to order my official transcript using credential inc. When I got to the end of the ordering, it asked me if I have any other form that needs to be sent out with the transcript, and I clicked yes. That same system had me mail in an authorization form and the form that I want sent out with the official transcript in the same envelope. I also attached a post-it note on that form saying send this form out with the official transcript in the same envelope to PTCAS. So this school waited until they received all of that in the mail and then sent out everything.
The other school did not use credentials so I emailed the registrar to tell them that I have another form that needs to be sent with it, and they told me what to do to ensure that that happens. They told me the address of where I should send the additional form to via mail. They said when they receive it in the mail, that it would be attached to the official transcript. This school was 4 hours away from where I currently live so I did all of this by email and mail instead of going in, and it worked out since ptcas has everything for this school now. So you do not necessarily always have to go in in person to the registrar's office.
So if you are unsure what to do, contact the registrar at your school, and I think registrar is pretty familiar with people needing additional forms sent with the official transcript so they should be able to tell you what to do about it.
