I searched for an answer to this but didn't find one. I already sent my official transcript to AMCAS, but I haven't submitted AMCAS yet. I just noticed I wasn't put on the President's List this quarter even though I met the criteria. I called and got it fixed. He said the change should take effect immediately. I ordered a fresh official transcript to AMCAS with AMCAS ID and transcript ID.

Is that all I need to do, or do I need to call them and get them to delete the first official transcript?

UPDATE: This is the email I got from AMCAS:

"Their is no way to delete the transcript that is a error. As long as you send in the updated transcript that's fine. We will used the most recent transcript on file when its time for verification."

This is probably a question which would be best answered by calling AMCAS

They don't care about this (though I'm sure you do). They just care about your GPA, which they will recalculate according to their own algorithm.

Ok, I'll let it go if nothing can be done. It's just that I've stated in my activities that I was on the President's List 6 times, and I don't want them to think I'm lying if they only see 5 on my transcript. I've listed that in an academic achievements activity (along with stuff not on my transcript like a 98th percentile ACS Organic Chemistry score for instance) to highlight the fact that I can do the work, despite my bad grades from my first 2.5 years of college before taking a 4 year leave of absence and transferring to start premed.

AMCAS does not verify the Activities section, just the coursework and grades. Your final transcript, which you'll mail to the med school you'll attend, will be correct and will match your claims. There is no reason to send a new transcript since your grades were correct.

Did they really make those mistakes when they typed out that email? Embarrassing.

Haha agreed. I considered editing them out, but I figured it's nice to see how all too human even the AMCAS people are.

What you said above is good to know. So even if that person is at bad at predicting how AMCAS works as they are at grammar, it will still all work out in the end. That puts me at ease. Thanks!

Too human at times, especially when two AMCAS staffers sometimes give conflicting responses to emailed or phoned inquiries, giving one the impression that one of them "winged it."

Ay. That's never good. Sometimes I think if we all just got up the courage to say "I don't know" more often, the world would be a much better place.

I got the impression they didn't read your question very carefully.

That's very possible. Knowing me, it's also very possible that I wrote it in a way that was confusing.
