Transcript w/out graduating

So I finished my course work for my masters degree close to 1 year ago, and as my PI could no longer support me I was forced to move back home, which is out of state from where I was studying. I am defending my thesis in mid-July. My question is should I have a transcript sent from my Masters university even though it is not the "final" transcript showing conferment of my degree. My thoughts on this are that AMCAS can then at least confirm the majority of the coursework and the "final" transcript would be less work. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Yes: I think you should get the transcript in now, because verification of your grades is the slow part at AMCAS. Mention someplace that you're defending your thesis this summer - you can do this in your secondaries, maybe. Update AMCAS and your schools when you finish your masters.

OP, go ahead and submit your transcript now. AMCAS will verify all of the coursework you've completed up to this point. You can indicate on AMCAS what courses you are currently taking (i.e., thesis research). Next spring, whichever med school you wind up attending will require you to send them the final transcript directly, including the date that your graduate degree was awarded. to you. 🙂
