Hello all,

I took a dual enrollment class in high school through a local community college to fulfill my writing class requirements. This totaled 6 credit hours. Do I need to submit a transcript from this CC, despite the fact that the 6 credits were accepted by my university and appear on my transcript from there? Sorry if dumb question, I am just not sure if being "enrolled" in a school is the same as taking 6 credits from them during high school. This class was done on the campus of my high school if that makes any difference.

Can you go to the CC's registrar and/or order a transcript from the CC to determine whether a transcript exists that lists the 6 credit hours?

If they have a transcript for you then yes, you'll need it, even if it will show up on your university's transcript.

If a transcript exists, you must submit it even if the credits were accepted by another school.

Even further if you were enrolled in any school, even if no credits were earned, you must list the school and get a transcript or a registrar’s letter

When I called AAMC, they told me that the only time you don't have to list a school and send a transcript or a registrar's letter is if the school does not produce transcripts like some vocational schools, where they don't have individual courses or transcripts.

I’m in the military and have had no problem getting any of my 7 transcripts. Schools are usually pretty understanding.

If it's a school where you have to go in person to request them, tell them you're in the Peace Corps. One of my schools was like that, and when I told them I was in the military, they let me email them a request.
