Hi - I requested that my transcripts to be sent to AMCAS via an online system that my grad school has set up. The only problem is that the official AMCAS transcript request form (with my AMCAS ID) will not be attached to the transcripts. Does anybody know if this will cause major problems or not?

Also, I guess it depends on the institution but how long after you had your transcripts sent did AMCAS recieve them? I requested a copy to be sent to my home address too, and while I received them about a week ago, my AMCAS info still says "Not Yet Received".

Thanks!

I never used the form, and they all managed to get there. It does take a while for AMCAS to process them, though. It was the #1 holdup to my application. I dealt with it with deep breathing exercizes and margaritas 😉

EDIT: ha ha, a year later, it dawns on me ... maybe if I had used the form, it wouldn't have taken so long? don't worry, they'll get there!

yea i've heard u can just do that (i wish i knew).

I sent my main transcript without the cover form using a similar online system. There was a space for special instructions, so I wrote down my AMCAS ID and said to include it. I'm hoping that'll be enough.

that may work. I sent the form with the requests that required payment. the ones i could do online i just included my AMCAS # in the special instructions area. AMCAS has started to process some that I requested both ways. :luck:

What address did you ask your transcripts to be sent to? This might be faster than mailing the AMCAS forms to the school, since I can just submit the address online.

From the form...

AMCAS, attn: Transcripts
AAMC Medical School Application Services
P.O. Box 57326
Washington, DC 20037

A transcript will be rejected and possibly returned by AMCAS under any of the following conditions:

The Registrar’s seal and/or signature is missing.
The transcript is stamped "Issued to Student" or "Student Copy" etc.
The official transcript was received directly from the student.
The official transcript is for the wrong student, or the name on the transcript differs from that on the transcript request form.
The official transcript is illegible.
