I was PMed this question to post here for someone

An Osteopathic student, who has around a 3.5 - 3.6 GPA, is looking into transferring for compelling reasons to an allopathic school near their family. This student has done well in rotations thus far, but they would be applying to the beginning of third year. How much of an issue would not passing COMLEX be to the allopathic school if this student does well on USMLE?
*Note: There is a reason for the poor performance on COMLEX and they are going to retake the exam.*

Your best chance is to make an appointment and speak to the admissions office at the school that you want to transfer to in person. Bring copies of all test scores, transcripts, AACOMAS, and AMCAS (if you have one). Be honest with the school, and express a willingness to retake classes if the administration feels that it is necessary.

If you can't meet in person, try to have a phone conversation.
