Hey everyone,
So I just wanted to see if anyone else has heard or know of this situation to be true. The issue is, are EM residencies that are PGY1-PGY4 or PGY1-PGY3 in format more reluctant to take applicants that have completed a PGY 1 year already as a transitional or rotating intern at another institution? I already am pretty certain that the intern year would have to be done again, which is to be expected (I think), but the issue is rather that if they take me on that it would mean that they would have to pay me as a PGY5 when I become a senior and thus, making me more expensive to train and less desirable?
I'm kinda confused about this and if this is true, then I'd might as well just not try to do EM even though I know that this is what I want to do? 😕😡😕😡
