Hello all,

Question for those of you who left a full time career to pursue medicine -

1) How was your adjustment back into an intense academic environment?
2) Do you feel that working full time helped with your time management / daily routine?
3) Do you feel that you have significantly more or less free time in medical school than when you were working full time?

I little background about myself - I am 26 & I am currently working as a clinical pharmacist dispensing medications outpatient. My job is very stressful and has demanded approx 50-54 hours a week of my time and I also have a 1.5 hour commute round trip. I take a heavy on-call schedule (overnight and weekends when we are closed which often requires driving back into the pharmacy which can put me >60 hrs some weeks). I guess the reason I state this is to find out if you guys who were working busy schedules were able to adjust well to the demands of medical school? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
