Travelling to SUNY Upstate

From what I've heard when talking to people who went to Upstate from NYC, JetBlue is the best way. Something like under $100 and the airport is about 10-15 minutes from the school. If that's not an option, both Greyhound and Amtrak go to the same station, also about 10-15 minutes away from the school. Hope that helps😀

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know the best way to go from New York City to SUNY Upstate's Campus by train or bus?
Thanks!

If you book early enough, you can get a ticket for 100 bucks roundtrip.

If you don't want to fly, go greyhound. Train sucks and I doubt you'll get a direct train from the city to Syracuse. Plus, I found the train schedules were at odd times when I went, whereas with greyhound, they had a bus going to Syracuse every hour.

The bus is pretty cheap, but the trip will take 5.5 hours or so. Take Greyhound, not shortline.

I'd recommend renting a car. When I was at school upstate, I'd get to Syracuse in about 3 hours

hated driving
for the cost of tolls and gas
its probably worth it to take jetblue
if i had known about it
i would not have driven up there

Take JetBlue! It's well worth it! I travelled with it for the first time to upstate NY and I loved it so much I'm considering buying some stock.

I took Jetblue and it was great. $37 one way and $44 the other. It was fast, easy, convenient, and care-free. I went to school in upstate New York and know that the roads can suck in the winter. At least with JB you'll feel like it's quick and reliable.

But that's just my two-cents!
