Just wondering if anyone is still waiting on Letters of Recom....??? A friend of mine that is applying for residency is having trouble getting his LOR writers to send them in. He is still waiting on 3 of his LOR writers to get them sent in. Is that normal for LOR not to be in by now?? They keep telling him, "We sent them in a long time ago, but I will resubmit it", or "Okay, I will try to get to it".

I'm still waiting for some...

I've found that reminding them on a Friday is most effective because they're all writing them on a weekend. Wish I figured this out a few weeks ago.

I think the best way to get them to submit your letter is NOT to pester them about by directly stating your cause. One opition is to just pop by their office once to thank them for the experience of your sub I/core rotation/etc and how much you enjoyed it. Don't sit down just make it seem like you're passing through. Another thing that worked for me was to schedule a meeting to discuss the programs I'm applying to and to get their imput on that program and if they know anyone there. Good because it puts you in their mind and can help you connect. Finally, good old fashioned thank you letters on quality stationary work wonders.

The trick is to make them want to get it done to help you and NOT because they want to get ride of you.

I'd also check with your administrative office to see if they have submitted the LOR BEFORE you talk to them about it. At my school it takes them some time to get it into ERAS.

if your waiting a long time, email them saying your school never received the letter and then go on to say how your school loses stuff alot, and ask them to re-send it. that way you arent directly asking them to hurry up and write it. its worked for me every single time 👍

Asking their secretaries actually works really nicely....also do not stress over LORs too much for you can certainly submit ERAS and start getting interviews w/o having themm ALL in.
