Has anyone on the TUCOM high alternate been contacted? Is it true that those on the list will not hear anything until classes begin?? I was told that by a lady in the admissions office.
I thought Mr. Davis said that by mid- MAY we would know something??

Any thoughts would help.
Also, does anyone know how many are on the high alternate list?
Thanks,

BMD79,

I doubt anyone from the waitlists have been contacted yet (because unless I am mistaken, TUCOM is interviewing through the end of the month)...

Come May 15th and/or shortly after I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see new "Finally, I got in!" posts... With respect to not hearing back until classes start, I believe that applies to those who will be offered early acceptance for 2008.

I will email Dr. Haight right now and see if he is at liberty to reveal the number of people on each respective waitling list...

Congrats on your high waitlist status... I would trade with you in a heartbeat and I wouldn't be worried if I was you!!!

The tuition deposit is due by May 15th so I imagine that many students that are still holding multiple acceptances will probably notify TUCOM by this date if they aren't planning on paying that $1000 deposit. That may open up some spots and you may hear something after that. I would guess that you could hear anything at any time between the May 15th deadline and when classes begin.

I have spoken to several people at many schools that got the notice they were off the waitlist just days before classes started so it is possible. Good luck.🙂

I am on the ?high alternate? list at TUCOM also, and I know of two others and are. I have a feeling there are a lot of students on it, but I have no evidence to back that up, just a gut feeling. I do know that we will be updated in mid to late May, and if they want to offer you a spot I can guarantee they will do it before the start of classes.

Good luck, hang in there, I?m sure everything will turn out just fine!
🙂

Thanks,

Did you interview March 18th? I remember a lady with an alpha-numeric SDN screen name. 🙂

Hey all, i just got a letter today saying that im on the high-alternate list for TUCOM. Does anyone have any idea how long these lists are?

dpw68

yes I interviewed the 18th. I spoke with awhile.
I hope everything turned out well for you...I know it would be perfect for you if you were at TUCOM this fall.

If anyone knows the # of people on high alternate let me know.

Also, S. Davis confirmed that that they will not go to these lists til mid-May.

Thanks for the reply

just for perspective I was a mid alternate last year and was not contacted until the week before class started.

BMD79,

I was put on low alternate list; my chance is about as much as molecular movement approaching absolute zero.

You're interested in manipulation research, right? nice to talk again

Hey all,

I was also put on high alternate. I'm going to take my name off the list, however, as I have chosen to go to COMP.

I hope that all you guys hear some good news soon!

During the interview Dr Haight said that usually all high listed apps get accepted for that year but that last year was the first time that had not happened. However, last year all those who didn't get accepted for 2006 were accepted for 2007. Again, every year is different but if you are high wait listed you have a really good chance. Don't quote me but I think they high list about 10-15 peope. I believe Dr. Haight would be happy to answer these questions in person as they are not "secret." I look forward to seeing those of you attending in the Fall. Sean.
