No phone call here either. I'm hoping for a letter to show up today
Well no voicemail here for me so im assuming that means i havent been accepted. Did anyone else get a call?
I definitely don't think that is a bad thing. Don't sweat it yet.
did you get a call?

Well, my gf just called after opening the letter... ACCEPTED!!!
Good luck you guys!
Congratulations, where do you live? I'm just trying to get an idea of when my letter should be coming
Well no letter today either. I do not know what the deal was with someone saying they got a call from the admissions director saying they were admitted. Again I ask those who were accepted... did you get a phone call?
I also talked to the admissions office again and she said that the letters went out either Friday or yesterday. She said that the content of the letter doesn't make a difference whether it was mailed either day, they just didn't have time to print them all out. She also told me that she didn't know if the director had been calling people who were admitted.
Since I'm in rural Illinois I might not even get a letter till next week. Unbelievable...

No letter yet either. Sounds like he has called a few people at least. I tried to call Oscar but did not get an answer. His voicemail says that he will be out of the office from Nov. 3 to Nov. 8. So we'll just have to wait it out.
Hey melissaliss, how are classes going? How is Vegas life? I called them and my application was received but it won't be reviewed until 2-3 weeks from now.
Advice anyone?
So I submitted my secondary near the end of August and I was promtly emailed that they were missing my LOR's. After a few attempts I finally got ahold of someone and told them that they were on virtual evals, they acknowledged they found them and said Ill print them off and it will go to the comittee.
Fast forward 6 weeks, I call to ask status. Oh we just proceessed your letters last week, so it will be going to the ad com soon. You should hear from us in the next week or so.
That was almost 3 weeks ago. Do I call again.. is this typical of Touro? Do they let you know if youre on hold or just the fact they dont call you means your rejected?
I received a phone call from Oscar Parra...but no letter. He said I should receive it in the next day or two. Cbrons, I was in the first interview group with you. I would call or email Oscar directly to find out your status since it is an incredibly short time to give a response. Good luck!
Congrats! I remember you...
Well I'm pretty sure if people were called from my interview group when they were accepted and I didn't receive a call, I pretty much already know what my status is. Still no letter though.
What is interesting to me is when I've called the admissions office twice and asked two separate people whether they called anyone informing them that they were accepted they said they didn't know (and didn't offer to ask someone in the office if that was the case). You'd expect a little more from an institution that you paid a decent buck to review your application and invited you on a cross country trip that costs upwards of $500 for an interview.
Why they don't just e-mail status updates and send a follow up letter through snail mail is beyond me. If I'm not in, I'm not in. I'd just like to know so that I can, you know, plan things for next year. Simply telling you that they've made a decision but you'll have to wait for the mail man to deliver it to you is pretty sketchy in my opinion. But congratulations to all those accepted.
So he didnt tell you whether he called anyone or not?
No he didn't. After he responded to my first email I wrote back mentioning the reports that he had contacted some students by phone. I politely asked that he provide me with some information. I would have no problem waiting, but I have an interview Friday at KCUMB and I was going to cancel it if I was accepted at Touro. I explained this to him and hoped that he would tell me so that I could know if I needed to buy a ticket or not. He has not yet responded and it has been two days. I was forced to buy the ticket when the letter did not arrive today. To say the least, I have been very frustrated with this process.
I really wouldn't do that if I were you (cancel KCUMB).

I'm not going to. My flight is booked for tonight. I'm really excited about it. I've heard a lot of good things.
Well, the wait is finally over. I was placed on the high accepted waitlist. Does anybody know the likelihood of being accepted from the high waitlist?
Mail just came. No letter yet 😡 Do you think I can call tomorrow morning and ask for my decision since Oscar stated we can call on November 5th?? I would just really like to know because of upcoming interviews that require plane tickets, and this waiting is killing me!
Edit::: Scratch that. Just called and asked how they were going about it tomorrow. I was told that even if we call tomorrow, they still will not give out our status (even though Oscar said they would). She said to call back on Monday if it still isn't received, and they will send another letter through the mail. Lovely..

I know this is probably super nit picky but how did you guys feel about your interview? Felt like you aced it? or did you have a mediocre feeling to it?
In terms of all of your questions regarding the wait list ... there were several years when quite a few students were pulled from the high wait list. I don't know how they are doing things this year, but last year there was an accepted wait list, that was actually above the high wait list and had about 20 students on it. I was told it was the students who would have normally been accepted but they ran out of spaces. Last year, only about 10-15 students were taken from the accepted waitlist and none were taken from the other wait lists. However, this year they are trying to avoid having an accepted wait list by accepting only a certain amount of students from each cohort. Also, I do believe there were a few students taken from the high wait list last year prior to the accepted wait list even existing, if that makes sense. So, if you are on the high wait list, do not take it as a rejection. Check in with the school every so often and make sure they are aware of your continued interest.
Here is my story of interview day. Disclaimer: It is worth the read.😉
It started off when I walked into the lobby and they didn't have my name on the list. They forgot I was coming! So they congenially scrambled up a packet and name tag and squeezed me into an interview group. It was my first interview and I was already nervous as hell. To top it off, Oscar treated it like, "Oh, you showed up on the wrong day? No worries, I think we can squeeze you in somewhere." WTF? Did I book the flight, hotel, and reschedule a test because I am an irresponsible, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type of person? JUST TELL ME YOU FORGOT. Party foul. The worst part about it was the interviewers didn't have time to review my application. I was asked very irrelevant questions and I felt they didn't know me going in, and didn't know me going out--maybe even knew less coming out. I left feeling cheated out of a possibly better experience and completely disappointed. Surprisingly enough, I was waitlisted 🙂.
Anyway, obviously this may or may not be an accurate representative experience of how the next 4 years will be. I'm not mad at the school but I think this is a fair place to discuss real experiences people have. Take my story with a grain of salt and evaluate TUCOM objectively.

I remember that. What a horrible way to welcome you to the school and start off your interview day.
The interview day was a big reason I decided against attending here. I also felt that my interviewers didn't read or review my app prior to the interview. The tour was awkward and not a tour. We had an administrator walk us down one hallway, not really allowing us into any of the rooms, so we had to peek through the narrow triangular windows to see what was going on in the rooms... Then we sat down in the hallway at chairs that were lining the walls, so that the administrator could discuss our upcoming interviews. She started by asking us "Why Touro?" I was like WTF? I was so shocked that she wanted us to tell everyone our reasons prior to the interview that I said something about it... Then we continued this pow wow for about 45 minutes of our 1 hour tour!!! I asked if I could see the research area and was shot down, then we had to get up and literally run through the rest of the school so that we could get back to our interviews on time... So much for the tour... I have been on a number of interviews and have never experienced anything like that before or after. I wanted to see the school, see where I was going to be attending for the next 2 years, but that didn't happen I also got a lot of bad vibes from administrators about the attendance policy, that had just been lifted. Enough so that it made it seem like the administration was a little hostile about it. I was actually so disappointed with my experience at TUNCOM that when I heard bad things happening during the Touro-CA interviews I withdrew my interview there.
Anyway, that's my assessment of the interview day. I think we are all nervous to post this stuff prior to a decision, but I agree with Kuan, that it's important to share how we really felt about the day.

The lady that took you on the tour did she have blond hair and an accent??
