Hey I have an Interview on February 2nd at 1pm.

I am arriving at 1am on February 1 at LAS, but I cannot afford rent a car because I am under 25.

I am willing to share with someone, willing to share a hotel (I am a Male), willing to share taxi, willing to share shuttle or anything possible.

Please let me know, however, I have not decided which hotel, whether on the strip or the 3 hotels that they provided. However, i called and taxi is 60 from airport to university, 50 from airport to their hotel, 16 dollars to strip hotels, and its coming to be very expensive, however I am willing to share. Please PM me and we can chit chat.

Interview 2nd Feb 1 Afternoon

I stayed in comfort inn Henderson. They offered me free pick up/drop off to both airport and Touro. Touro is only 10 min away from there hotel.
Room was around $100. May be this will work for you

does anyone know how many spots are still open at touro-nv?

I interviewed on the 18th and I think I rember them saying they were 3/4 full, so about 30 spots remained at that time.

hmmm. i was hoping there'd be more seats. i have an interview here next month but i'm not feeling all to confident due to a string of rejections i've received in the past few weeks 🙁

my grades aren't that great, but they did invite me for an interview...i just hope i'm not wasting my time.

I hope I'm not wasting my time as well, I am interviewing 2/23. What day are you interviewing? GL :luck:

I just want to post some info that might cheer up those of you who are worried about the class having few seats left.

Now I don't know how many seats they actually have left at this point (I could certainly believe what the other poster said about it being 3/4 full).

So if the class is quite full, you are correct that they are going to likely be offering few acceptances and mostly waitlists. Obviously everyone wants an acceptance, but in the case of Touro-NV, being on the waitlist gives you a very good chance of acceptance.

The reason for that is this: While Touro-NV requires a very large deposit (2k), there is a Nevada law that requires all deposits at schools to be fully refundable minus $100. So, if you put down a 2k deposit there and decide not to attend, you are refunded $1900.

The consequence of this is that many people who are accepted decide to put down the 2k even if they think it is highly unlikely they will end up attending. They obviously do this because they know that if they don't choose to attend, they are only out $100.

So there are a great number of people who have been accepted, placed a deposit, but once they receive an acceptance at a school higher up on their wish-list, they withdraw their acceptance and get their money back.

All of this movement means that Touro-NV's waitlist moves quite a bit, and often quite a bit earlier then other schools.

im on a waitlist here and i looked up the statistics and it seems that about 80 percent of the people in their 135 person class are accepted off the waitlist, and they interview 500 peeps

ps were you the one that freaked me out in yakima? lol

this school is at the top of my list as far as schools ive received interview invites from so I have been emailing them and they said they go thru the waitlist in april and usually everyone or almost everyone off of the high wait list is excepted...I liked this school it offered a wide range of medical phenomenon that I believe you wouldn't see many other places, you get to practice at a pretty international spot, and you get to practice you skills on "independent contract actors" lol and everybody knows practice makes perfect

Im accepted somehwere else but I would still love to go to this school, top choice so far, and i still have 4 scheduled and paid for interviews

im medium waitlisted so ... im not counting on going here but If I get accepted as far as i know right know this is were ill go

What about the alternate list? Should I just consider myself rejected?

When did you get the news about the alternate waitlist? Did you get an interview recently?

Anyone who interviewed on 1/18 hear anything yet? This is my first choice school and I'm SO ANTSY! haha

So I just called the admissions office and they told me that the director had been out of the office last week due to illness so all processes are delayed one week. I interviewed on the 18th and was told that I will here from them some time the end of this week or early next week. So one more week of cringing =P .

Thanks for sharing that. I've been running home to check my mailbox everyday. Grrr.... so frustrating! Wish they would just email us with our status and not have to send it snail mail. Oh well! Guess I won't be canceling any of my other upcoming interviews just yet... Good luck everyone! And hopefully we'll hear something soon 🙂

Hi everyone- interviewed during the PM session on Jan 18. I'm so anxious to get my letter. I live in CA so I hope my letter arrives tomorrow 😳 Touro is great school, I would def go I got accepted.

Hey Touro NV Peeps! Anyone else interviewing on this day? I'm in the afternoon group. What are your plans while in Nevada?

Interviewed on the 18th..... Still waiting for the acceptance letter.... Hurry up Touro!

Interviewed on the 18th..... Still waiting for the acceptance letter.... Hurry up Touro!

I called admissions on Friday b/c I am in the same boat as you guys, interviewed on the 18th and I really want to go to Touro NV! They told me the letters had just been mailed out that day, so hopefully (depending on where you live) we should be hearing back Monday or Tuesday. Good luck everyone 🙂

Rejected post-interview. I guess that's better than being teased with a waitlist. This really blows...

I knows it's probably not easy, but were you able to pinpoint what went wrong in the interview? If you are willing to talk about it, could you please respond or if you'd like, PM me? I'd appreciate the help, because I was waitlisted over at the CA sister university, and now I have an interview there in NV.

Yeah...the interviewers even said to me directly "You are a perfect match for this school as far as our mission is concerned and everything else on your application, we are just concerned that based on your Biology GPA and MCAT scores that you are not prepared for the advanced rigor of a medical school curriculum."

if u dont mind me asking, what was your response to them after they said that?

That's totally ridiculous! Why would they even invite someone to interview if they didn't have the stats they expect? Did they tell you this when you were in the interview or did you call the office post-interview?
What did they like?
Can you PM your scores, because I feel that I might be in your position as well

I agree. If his stats were such an issue, they should not have had him waste his time and money with the interview.

I think a school should only invite those applicants who have a strong chance of being accepted assuming a strong interview. If a strong interview isn't going to result in acceptance...then what was the point of bringing up the applicant out there for the interview. Just a tease.

For the record I was accepted at Touro-NV and "high-waitlisted" at Touro-CA. Who knows how these things are decided.

I live in San Diego and I JUST got my acceptance letter! They were sent out Friday night, by the way. I am still waiting on news from a few schools but will definitely send in my DEPOSIT by the deadline!

Anyone else have excellent news??

😀😀😀😀😀😀

Medium waitlisted... bummed out as I have heard many times that people in my position usually don't get in 🙁 This is my top choice 🙁

Can anyone from previous years tell me if they move people from Medium waitlist to High during the cycle or you stay where you are until the very end?

Also, who do I follow up with about my application. I want to write a letter of intent but not 100% sure who I should contact.

Thanks.. GL all!

Hi I have the same situation accepted at Touro-NV and "high-waitlisted" at Touro-CA. Which one do you think is better?

Yeah needless to say I was quite shocked at the way the final decision came down...I was expecting at least to be waitlised...

My response involved me sharing details about some personal/family stuff I was dealing with the end of my sophomore year and beginning of my junior year that required me being home a lot on weekdays (which resulted in missing class and study time, etc.). I gave the actual details and they seemed to be very understanding, one of them even smiled and said "well that is surely understandable." I then followed up by saying "To be honest, I wanted to make sure that I was prepared for medical school coursework myself, which is why I took several chemistry courses and biochemistry (these areas were originally my weakest areas) post-bacc in order to ensure I was prepared. I ended up 4 pointing these courses, and that was part of the way that I knew I was ready for this cycle."

So yeah, I'm at a bit of a loss here to be honest...not sure what my future holds for me, but time will tell.

Letter of acceptance just came, but I was just recently accepted to WesternU in Oregon and will be going there. Hopefully my spot becomes available for someone here. Best wishes!

Does anyone know if there are any other types of wait list, other than High, Medium and Low? Are they doing accepted wait list this year or something similar to this?

They said at the interview that admissions will invite two waitlisted applicants to orentation, if someone from the class drops out at that point, one of these students will fill the spot, and if they don't get in from there, they are guaranteed a spot in next years class
