Tufts "active consideration"

Has anyone placed on active consderation at tufts been accepted yet? just wondering if i still have a realistic shot.
 
did you receive an email informing you that you are under "active consideration"?? when were you complete ??
 
yeah I'm on active consideration too, still waiting 🙁. Does active consideration mean I have some chance still of getting in?

Yup, I've got that too, and still waiting... supposedly we'll know by April 1st. I'm pretty sure they sent all their rejections in a batch, so my hopes aren't too high... but they claim to interview through March, so who knows.
 
did you guys get these by email? i wonder if i should call to check on my status since i haven't heard anything from them since i was complete...
 
I inquired as to my status and got the "active consideration" notification as well.

I hope they notify us soon though.

But, we've been under 'active consideration' for quite a while... Hence the worrying. I'm guessing we don't have good news coming.
 
Active consideration is after you interview.
They claim it is not a waitlist because they can pull you off of it at any time, even during the interview season. However, it seems pretty much like a waitlist since no one seems to have been pulled off of it yet and they'll probably decide in April.
They just wanted to make "waitlist" sound special, i guess. 😳

I guess the real question is whether or not anyone who has been interviewed was rejected. It seems as though people were either accepted, accepted than withdrew, or were placed on the nebulous "active consideration". Any post-interview rejections?

I was also placed on "active consideration" after an interview but I have heard of a bunch of people who got straight out rejected after their interview...so it does happen.
 
those who were on active consideration, did you get an email telling you to update your address on the website so they can send you a letter?
 
Yeah, everybody gets that email. It doesn't mean anything. They just need to make sure your address is correct because they send you a letter regardless. I've been under active consideration since december 😴. Is it really true that some people were rejected post-interview?

Are february interviewees supposed to hear this week?
 
Has anyone been pulled off AC yet? Looking at last year's posts, it seems like people started getting calls of acceptance around this time...

I hope to get a call soon...but who knows! I don't know how many they generally take of AC post interview. Anyone know?
 
Today was the last day for interviews at Tufts, so I think the committee will be meeting next week. Hopefully that means the AC list will start moving next week, but I'd be surprised if it was before then.

I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly hope it starts moving though, I HATE waiting!

Wow, I didn't know that they were still interviewing...I've been sitting on pins and needles all week, because I thought that the last interviews were a couple of weeks ago. Well, I guess I can relax now for at least another week or two.
 
I think, if its like last month, they get in touch pretty quickly after their meeting - within a week??

Maybe some folks that are hearing from BU this week will w/draw from Tufts, cross your fingers!

They do get in touch pretty quickly with you, I think. I go to Tufts undegrad, and have been on active consideration since january, after having the wost interview experience out of all schools where i interviewed...so bad, that it prompted our pre-med advisor to call the admissions office and let the dean know what happened. She told me that the committee is meeting end of this week/beginning of this week, so people might start hearing soon.

I actually got into BU in january and I'm waiting to see what happens with Tufts, because I'm interested in the 4 year MD/MPH, since most of my undergraduate research has been in public health, and I have been working with one of the professors in the program. I'm also waiting to see the financial aid, but from I've heard, the cost for BU and Tufts ends up being pretty even. Anyways, hopefully we'll hear soon!

That is crazy! Why was it so bad? I assume you still like the program though, right?

No, I haven't heard anything either...from looking at last year's posts, I thought that people might start getting calls of acceptance this week.

I'm just freaking out a bit, but it's reassuring that no one else has heard anything today either
 
I thought so, too, but I get confused by the whole March 30th deadline for AMCAS. Do you think Tufts already accepted a full class, but are waiting for people to w/draw?

Its killing me too!

The professor that I work with that used to be on the admissions committee in previous years has told me that significant movement occurs in end of April when a lot of people start withdrawing from tufts due to 1) acceptance to a cheaper school or 2) acceptance to a better school. At this time, the dean of admissions starts looking at people on active consideration and getting them off the list into the acceptance pool.

Anyone have Tufts as their first choice or still hoping on others?
 
First choice here! Has been from day one. Not hoping for anywhere else at this point. It's been a ****ty application year. My rejection pile is on the verge of tiping over. So Dean Neumeyer has to come through... he just has to.

me neither. I called on the 1st and they told me they mailed out letters and I should be getting a decision in a week. I don't know if the letter is just late or if it's just different because I'm AC. From reading the other posts it sounds like I might have to wait to see what kind of movement happens at the end of April before I get any final word...

That's nerve-racking. We're in the Boston area and haven't received any letter yet......
 
I'm pretty sure the decision letters are just for people who didn't get an interview (rejections.)

I think the AC list will probably get moving in a few weeks after people start withdrawing. I'm pretty sure the Ac list turns into a waitlist at some point in May, so I don't think we'll be getting rejectioins in the mail until the very end. I'm just surprised because it seems that other years they had started to pull people from active consideration by now. I know a couple of people who were accepted in March of last year. I don't understand why they're taking so long right now.😴
 
Has anyone on the AC list been admitted recently? Also, does anyone know what proportion of people on this list are ultimately admitted (either outright or off the waiting list)?

Hey everyone! Just thought i'd attempt to give you a glimmer of hope; i decided this week to withdraw, although i loved tufts when i went back. Financially, I just don't think it's the right decision for me. I'm about 95% sure about this right now, and i'm giving myself a tiny bit more time to think about this but will likely withdraw the first week of May.

Anyone hear anything recently? Do we know when they make decision on people on the AC list?

Although they say it's not a waitlist, can you remain on this list past May 15th or do you think we would hear one way or another by then?

I wouldn't be upset if someone called Tufts to ask about this.....

I would do it myself but it's not me who's on the AC list, and I don't want to be "that girl" calling for her fiance.....
 
Any ACer's get lucky this week? I'm still waiting here. At least May 15th is approaching...slowly 🙂
 
i withdrew from my acceptance to Tufts a little while back, so hopefully one of you guys get it. good luck!

It's just a waitlist! and they emphasized that it wasnt...
