Hello all,

I was just wondering what each person that has applied to Tuft's Cummings School has put on their application. So like, number of hours of extra-currics, what the extras were, GPA, GRE, etc. etc.

Tuft's is my dream school in terms of location and education, so I was hoping to get some feed back on what I should be doing to get in.

Thanks!

Hi,
Im starting tufts this fall. My stats are in the accepted applicants CO 19 thread if you want to check them out. Feel free to pm me with any specific questions about applying or why I chose tufts. Good luck!

Thanks so much! I'll be sure to check it out 🙂

I was accepted to Tufts for the c/o 19 and my stats are also posted in the accepted applicants page.

Tufts admissions is like the nicest admissions office in the world. If you call them, you can set up a time to discuss what they're looking for, and you can even set up an individual consultation so that they can look over your transcript and resume and let you know what they like, what else you should work on, and where you stand. I did it when I applied back in 2009 and it was super helpful. They even have me pointers on what they're looking for in their essays. If you do a search, I've written about the review I had with them in detail before.

Your Q and V for GRE are the same as mine YAY! I was thinking I was low for Tufts. I might still be, but you gave me hope 🙂 Where do you think you stood out most? What did you talk about in your interview?

Honestly I think I stood out because of the variety of experiences I had both within and outside of vet med. For my interview I talked a little bit about my research experience working with sea turtles and then mostly about my hobbies. I talked about my passion for music and how I helped planned and coordinated concerts at my university, and then I talked about my passion for photography and how I was a member of an online production company where I helped make the first season of a new tv series. My interviewers and I then all talked about our love for the outdoors and traveling. Their interview isn't a normal interview, they don't ask any trick questions, ethical, or other "traditional" questions you typically hear. It was basically like a normal conversation and they really try to make you feel as comfortable and as welcomed as possible.

I have a passion for music too, but I haven't done a lot of that since high school. In high school I was so big on music people were surprised to hear I was going to school for Bio! I'm still in Chorus and chamber choir and I take lessons at a prestigious conservatory... I mean thats gonna be my essay where I don't talk about animals... I'm not sure what else I have outside of my vet stuff though.
