We can all agree that OOS have it rough. I'm headed to OSU in the fall, and I have no idea what IS tuition is, but I'm paying a whopping $53000. The only saving grace is the fact that I can get residency for the remainder of my time there.
Yikes, yikes.
Yikes, yikes.
37 thou at Cornell this year for tuition... weeeeeee!!!!!

Oklahoma State University's 2008-2009 rates:
$12,391 (IS yearly) or $29,666.36 (OOS yearly)
Not bad?
Think twice, applicants. OKSU ain't so bad after all.

Massey tuition for students starting in 2008
NZ$42,000 (international), NZ$8,212 (domestic)
US$32,340 (international), US$6,323 (domestic)
My tuition is ending up:
NZ$190,000 = US$142,500 for 5 years
because of lower first semester costs, plus I was grandfathered at NZ$40,000/year. Massey guarantees your tuition will not increase during your years of study.
Of course, then there's the cost of living...

These are just tuition numbers - if you include fees:
Fall 2008 in-state tuition at Oklahoma State = $7,202.43
Fall 2008 out-of-state = $15,840.08
multiply by 2 accordingly for year's tuition...
Still among the lowest in the nation. I don't understand how other schools can expect people to pay as much for veterinary school as they do. Some of us are not going to be making that much money, especially in rural practice. If I was having to pay OOS rates to go to school, I would not be in veterinary medicine -- simple economics. Vet med is my first pick of course, but there are many other science fields I could have gone into and not have to pay off debts for 20-30 years.
Yep, that's why OK state was on my list!! At our practice we have one vet who went there as an OOS some years 15 back. His tuition was only around 6k! Cheaper than his instate!
And they seem to take more than a handful of OOS. Not a whole lot, but certainly more than other schools.
Really a good school to consider. If I hadn't gotten into my state school I would have accepted there.
WSU (not counting living expenses)
instate ~$17,000 yr
OOS ~$42,000 yr

I feel slightly nauseous writing this (especially because I am in the OOS category)
IS (technically called sponsored): $16,547
OOS (non-sponsored): $16, 547 + a $27,200 "support fee" = $43,747
Eeesh, I hate to even think about it. Anyone else curious what the schools do with the extra $108,800 they rake out of each OOS student over the course of the 4 year program (IS= $66,188/4 years, OOS= $174,988/4 years). We all know, at least at CSU, it doesnt go to revamping the classrooms!!
In-State (AL & KY Students):
Tuition & Fees = $12,250
Total Cost of Attendance = $28,495/yr
Out-of-State:
Tuition & Fees = $36,890
Total Cost of Attendance = $53,135/yr

Not including housing or books, tuition for the first 6 semesters at SGU is $24276/ year (although I am sure costs will increase)...and for the last 3 clinical terms the tuition is $42273.
So...grand total altogether as of now is $115,101. Not TOOOOO bad considering I was expecting $200,000+ in debt, but I know that housing isn't particularly cheap so we'll see if I reach that mark!
Deep breaths. haha
