What was the cost?
Depends on when, ranged from like 30-50 most of the time. If you talk to the manager stanley tell him you're a poor student here at Tulane Med and he may give you a discount.

Sounds good, (can I book this online?)
FYI you can only see if you have an somforum account and my account took a while to be verified by hand- you might want to host the pics on imageshack or something
They dont like to be called zombies, they like to be called "The Living Challenged"Thanks for the tip... I added a couple pics of the property.

EDIT: Theres also a shopping shuttle but I dont know any info on when it runs. As far as the above intercampus shuttle I can tell you that its not the most reliable transport...they're often late and sometimes they dont do all the stops....for no reason at all (from what I can tell).
Going from the med school to Reily generally takes 45 to an hour.
I have an immunization question.
I'm having trouble getting a Dr. to sign the form. I've had those immunizations done all over the world over the last couple of decades. Its physically impossible for me to track down these physicians, if they are even alive, to get the signatures.
Every doctor I've taken it to so far says they will only sign for immunizations they or thier staff have done. I have all of the documentation proving I've had the immunizations but getting someone to sign a form is proving tremendously difficult.
Solutions anyone?
For the white coats, I don't know exactly how you're supposed to measure. Just make a guess, and if it doesn't fit, you'll be able to exchange it for the right size after the White Coat ceremony. Kai just had his hemmed, because it dragged on the ground.
For New Orleans, which service is better: Verizon or T-Mobile?
Danger out.

Anyone have any insight on "925 Common Street Apartments"?
It seems ok from what little I can tell. The biggest draw for me is how close it is to the med school. A couple of blocks at most.
Hello first years!
My name is Drew Falconer, one of your T2 orientation leaders, and I'm writing you with something sweet we're doing for you. When we looked back at our first year, we thought, "What can we do for the T1s that we wish someone would've done for us?" And here's what we came up with, two things that were offered to us that we're passing on to you, but we've redone and revamped them and they now rock your socks off. We're talking about completed POs and detailed Class Notes which we've spent all summer putting together for you, which any T2 will recommend you all get, because they will make your first year sooo much more manageable. In short, we're offering you our entire 1st year, exactly what you're about to go through, as a resource because we only wish that this level of attention to detail and extra help had been offered to us. This is what we've got for ya:
Detailed, completed Anatomy Performance Objectives (POs) - When you start anatomy, you will be given a thick course packet for each block chock-block full of learning objectives/questions that are in essence, everything you need to know to ace Gross Anatomy. The problem we found was that the performance objectives were so thick and detailed, we would spend all our time trying to research and answer all the questions, that there was little time left afterwards to study and absorb the information. So we put together detailed, question-by-question completed POs that are money. Literally, the POs were all many of us studied for Anatomy, and we did extremely well. Even if you want to do the POs yourself, I'd still recommend purchasing a completed set from us to use as a resource on all the questions that you can't find the answer to. And once crunch time hits before a test and you're way behind on the POs, you can always use these as a backup because they rock. We also highlight what information was most important on the tests, how detailed we need to know certain things, etc. Straight up, everyone should buy these, as they are truly a must-have. The price is $50 for three blocks of Anatomy, all done.
Detailed Class Notes - We also compiled for you a detailed set of class notes for every lecture you will attend during your entire first year. These notesets go beyond just a verbatim reiteration of the lecture (which is also included) and into explanations, references, and a complete view of the lecture as well as answered questions, practice tests, pictures, diagrams, and more. These notes have been prepared by a selected few official note-takers whose job it has been this past year to compile these notesets after the lectures as if they were teaching the information. Fall and Spring semesters, all 6 classes, all 7 blocks, these class notes will serve you very well as a resourse to clarify foggy ideas, to answer questions, and to be there in case you just don't feel like going to class one day. We designed these to supplement class so well that missing a lecture is no problem with our notes. I occasionally missed classes mainly to study instead of sitting in lecture, and these notes allowed me to stay at the top of the class. They are also great to follow along with in class when you do attend, so that you can actually focus on the material being taught and not have to frantically try and take notes (we give you margins for that!) For your entire first year, every class, both semesters, every lecture detailed and explained, only $150. This is a phenomenal deal.
We're taking pre-orders on these packets, almost 3,000 pages of gold, so that we can have it all ready to give to you at orientation. If you are interested, please drop us an email at
[email protected] or respond to this email and tell us what you'd like and how you'd like to pay. You can pay us in two ways, mail us a check written out to NoteService2010 to the address at the bottom of this email, or even better, go to the following web link on our class' noteservice website where you can pay via paypal or credit card. At the following link, you will see your options under "Class of 2011, First Year Medical Students". Just add what you want to cart and then "view cart" to checkout.

Get ready, the first year is amazing... hard, but so worth it. And the best advice I can give you as one who just did it is to get these two resources to minimize the busy work! They're the reason many of us rocked our 1st year, and we've made them even better so that you can do the same.
Any questions you may have about ANYTHING, feel free to email me personally or any of the T2 orientation leaders.
Thanks and congrats on making it in!

Do any of the 'old' kids have any commentary on getting the note set? Is it essential or just helpful? Thanks and I am excited to meet you all!
Harrah's will be my downfall.
I don't see how the med students are able to stay away.
