so ive been complete at tulane for three weeks, do you guys think its too early to send anything to the dean of admissions such as a letter of interest or should i wait until they have made a decision? I feel like Im a good fit for their program because im really intereted in international opportnuties and i know they focus on that more than other schools

It is never too early to send a letter of interest. Go for it.

that's what i have heard also. it's my understanding that they don't put much stock into them until you have been there to really see the school and the program.

true. LOI only serve those who have interviewed and are waiting to be either reviewed or are waiting to get off the waitlist!

Do people really have success with these letters in terms of getting an interview and in terms of getting an acceptance after an interview? Sometimes it seems like a lot of people do it but I can't help but wonder if sending such letters may aggravate AdComs and do more harm than good. What do people think?

it really just depends on the school. my student interviewer at one of the schools i went to recently told me at the end of the interview that the school was very receptive to letters of interest, so she said that if i get waitlisted after the interview and really want to go, to send a couple of letters and it would probably work.
