I am just starting my 3rd year and I plan on getting my palm pilot over the next couple of days. I am either getting the T3 or C. Why do most medical students seem to get the T3? If that is true, what are the advantages of the T3 or advantages of the C? I know the C has a keyboard and the T3 doesn't, but is there any other real advantage of the T3? Also, do hospitals (like Robert Wood Johnson) have Wi-Fi capability? Does the Tungsten E have less important features?

Basically, if you could give me any advice on what the T3 has compared to the Tungsten C or E, I would really appreciate it!

the C has structural issues, case cracks and so does the screen. E is all around a solid device. T3 is high end: fast, nice screen, lots of memory, but poor battery life. It depends on how much you want to spend and how much you plan on using it. Remember a palm is nothing without programs, some of which cost $$$$.

you should do some research: www.palminfocenter.com
www.brighthand.com
www.1src.com

The C is the Palm Tugnsten C, go to bestbuy.com to compare all these things.

Hi

Try to get Wi-Fi if you can. This is being rapidly adopted everywhere. I got a Dell Axim X30 for 249 and I'm very happy with it.

The C does not have nearly as many problems as the brighthand users make it out to be. I personally have one and LOVE it.

The biggest advantage of the T3 is the size. The TC, by comparison, is huge. It also has Bluetooth, which could be a dealbreaker if you're into that kind of thing.

The biggest advantage of the TC is the battery life, which completely smokes the T3 (or even two T3s...). The TC also has Wi-Fi, and it also has a thumb keyboard, which is either really handy or really lame, depending on how you feel.

Comments:
I personally have a T3. I love the screen. I didn't like the C because the keyboard was useless for me (thumbs/fingers too big). Plus, I wasn't sure whether to go BT or Wi-Fi (stupid idiots at PalmOne NEED to make one w/ both... this is NOT difficult to do). I decided to stick w/ BT just for the novelty of it (I can surf the internet by connecting through my BT cell phone which means I can check email, get directions etc. anywhere that my cell phone works; w/ Wi-Fi you have to be in an area where a network is already up and running that you have permission to access). Wi-Fi would have been more practical, but like I said I hated the keyboard. Also, being able to leave voice memos on the T3 (not available on the C) is for some people (like me) an awesome reason to buy it.

SanDisk has said that they will be coming out w/ a SD Card-sized wireless card. Hopefully this will happen soon since Wi-Fi is the standard in most hospitals now. There is at least one current Wi-Fi solution available (but I don't feel it's economical in size).

If anything, PalmOne will get their heads screwed on straight and make (soon, hopefully) a pda w/ BOTH BT and Wi-Fi. If and when this happens I personally plan to sell my T3 and buy this.
