The only sections I really don't feel confident in are

1) Quantitative Reasoning

2) The pattern folding section of the PAT

I plan to redo and master the 2009 and 2007 quant reasoning sections and then practice the bootcamp pattern folding generator for a while. Anyone have advice on these two sections or better ways to practice them?

Thanks!!!

That was exactly how I felt as well with my test. My advice is just to try your very best. That's the only thing you can do at this point for math just do all the problems u can do or know how and guess on all others lol

Haha gotcha man thanks that's my current strategy! Also I heard that the Pattern Folding on the actual DAT is wayyyy harder than the practice examples you get so... I'm just going to spend my time on math instead lol.

Yeah my pattern folding was much harder than anything I'd seen on a practice exam. It was almost all about shading and not very many about shapes of faces etc. But even the ones that weren't about shading I was still spending significant time on. As for qt I was down to 20 questions with 5 minutes left so Iliterally clicked through the answers and got a 17...not happy about it, but not extremely upset cconsidering the circumstances. And I agree with just doing as many math problems as you can

For QR, you should mark the ones you don't know on the DAT and then go back. Some problems are really easy, like simple "plug and chug" problems. Don't spend too much time on a word problem that you can't figure out right away.

I haven't taken the DAT yet, but this is just what my friends said about QR.

I wouldn't waste too much time redoing the 07 and 09 exams. 09 had some questions that you will most likely not see, Q's that are far too difficult. And 07 was prob a little too easy. Do math destroyer and understand the solutions well. Once you have math destroyer down, and really have a firm grasp on the concepts, you should be totally fine for qr.

Do you know anything about how similar the bootcamp math tests are to the real DAT? I feel like that might be a better way to spend my limited time since there aren't as many questions as there are in destroyer

Now that you mention it though I'm looking it up and several people have said that the 2009 Math section is ridiculous

I highly recommend going the through the math section of the DAT Destroyer at least once and write down explanations for all your wrong answers. MATH Destroyer was a bit of overkill, but the formulas in the first few pages are very helpful. The types of math problems on the DAT stay pretty consistent with DAT Destroyer and Bootcamp. Just figure out the types that you struggle with and practice those and/or memorize the formulas. For example I can almost guarantee there will be a speed/distance/time problem like car travels from point a to b at this speed and another car travels at this speed etc, those sucked for me at first but then I figured out how to beat all of them (V=D/T convert everything to in terms of T - worked for me may not work for everyone).

Sorry, didn't realize ur test was in two days. If u have math destroyer, I still think it'd be beneficial to do maybe two or so tests and know all the stuff at the front of the book. Can't really comment on Bootcamp but I'm sure that if you did a few of their tests, it'd be time well spent. I am pretty sure they wrote those tests to be a little harder than the real thing

Roger that, I'll focus on math tonight and tomorrow with a little review of everything else sprinkled in. If anyone else has "day before the DAT" advice it would be welcome haha
