tx schools - gpa and dat?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew about tx schools and if a 3.36 overall/3.32 sci with what DAT score will they still accept you/interview you... I am taking my DAT next friday but I dunno what my chances are depending on how well I do on it..

Wow, some of those people got in with crappy numbers...they could have taken me with my crappy numbers.

For what its worth, I talked to one of the admissions people from UTH about 3 months ago and was told that their average for this year was 3.6 gpa and 18 DAT.

The average science grade point ratio of Aggies accepted at the three dental schools (for 2004) was 3.55.

for aggies in 2004
3.5 GPR and over had 100% acceptance rates (this probably means that at least one of the three schools accepted them)
3.2 GPR and above had an 86% acceptance rate

I could finish up my degree in time (at Univ of Houston-downtown campus), but I would have to quit my job and couldn't support my family. I currently work about 60 hours/week as a real estate broker in Houston.

I currently have 120+ credit hours.

Doesn't make much of a difference when you have stats like you have. If I were a betting man I would bet you will get into every school you applied to except maybe Louisville, they don't like the no degree thing from what my friends have told me.

I appreciate the support. I hope you're right.

I didn't think anything could be as stressful as the DAT, but now waiting for letters/e-mails/etc. isn't much better.

I have a hard time believing those scores. Anyhow the key is to just give it your best shot. But be realistic and have a backup plan. There are several rejection stories I have heard of people with 3.4 and a 19 DAT scores etc. It's just not worth it to have your heart set on it. Especially since your gpa falls below the average of acceptance. Plus a lot of times those people that get in are also reapplicants from the previous year. So like I said have a backup plan...

The scores that I posted for aggies are accurate and right off of an Office of Professional Student Advising handout. It's not the scores that are the problem... those stats don't tell the whole story because it doesn't show the gpa and dat scores of those above 3.2 that were denied.
