Ah, ok. Does anyone have any clue about how Abilene fits into the equation? Also, does the Abilene staff make decisions about people they interviewed, or is everything decided in Amarillo?

Congrats to everyone who did get their acceptance letter. I look forward to meeting you in the fall. To everyone else...you guys still have a good chance of getting in. Texas Tech is far from sending out all their acceptence letters. If you got an ED..you have a pretty high chance of getting in. Now to answer Knicker's question...it is to my understanding that all the decisions are made in Amarillo.

So... Anyone have the guts to email Mike Nall and ask if decisions have been made for Abilene interviewees yet?

I wouldnt worry too much about it right now, if you didnt get in this time, your stuff will be reviewed next week with those that interviewed on the 22nd and 29th. As well as every time the admissions committee meets until all 130 offers are made. So you still have plenty of chances to get accepted. Its my understanding that you wont get rejected until after all offers are made, and even then you could still be on the alternate list. Mike Schwettmann said last year they took like 25-30 into the program off the alternate list.

Well, it seems that nobody who interviewed in Abilene on the 15th has posted about getting in yet, so I'm hoping that we may hear something sooner.

For those of you that got accepted or I guess anyone who has interviewed. Did your status change from "Invited for Interview" directly to "Accept offer" or was there an intermediate status between those two?

I got accepted!!!!!!😍

congrats, partykiki!! so, are you choosing tsu or tx tech? i haven't heard anything....so disappointed, but i still got usc, so it's all good, i guess. good luck to you!!!

congrats to the rest of you, too! i really wanted to get in, but it sucks that i didn't make the first round. oh well.

Yes it went from "Invited for Interview" to "Offer Extended". You just click "Accept Offer" where it previously stated "Interview Dates" and it'll take you to this page where you confirm your acceptance and that's it.

Is Tech your first choice? Or is UH?

yeah, I interivewed at Abilene 22nd too...UH finally rejected me 🙁, so Tech is my next chance

same boat here!!!
UH rejected me exactly after 2 weeks....
I have no guts to ask my adviser why...😛
but now being accepted to Texas tech and TSU...I have a dilemma...ahahah

COngrats everyone!!!! I hope the rest of us will hear something soon, especially for those who interviewed at Abilene on the 22th. I am so freaking anxious!

Thanks, dpenney, you've given me some much needed perspective.

Back to studying Organic like I mean it.

Yeah, pharmpilot, don't worry. It looks like nobody from Amarillo on the 22nd or 29th has been reviewed. It also appears that nobody who interviewed in Abilene got in yet. Plus there is what dpenney said.

Well I'm in the same boat as you, our stuff isn't supposed to be reviewed until next week, so I'm still pretty calm. I may change my tune next week.

Where did you get this information? And what specifically is it? Do you know the review dates for the two locations and the four dates?

You seem to know which group is being interviewed next week. I was just wondering where you got this information. I also wanted to know if you had any more specifics about other dates for both places (Amarillo and Abilene).

Well Mike S. in Amarillo told us that the first two rounds would be considered first, then the last two rounds a week or so later. So those who interviewed in the last two rounds will probably be receiving their acceptance the week after next.

I assume by interviewed, you mean reviewed by the admissions committee? I interviewed on the 29th in Amarillo, during the wrap up session at the end, we were told that the adcom was going to meet on March 4th to review and make offers to those that interviewed on Feb 8 and 15th. They said that those who interviewed on Feb 22nd and 29th, as well as those from the 8th and 15th who didnt get accepted the first time, would be reviewed about two weeks after that (i.e. next week) I can only assume that it doesn't matter whether you interviewed in Amarillo or Abilene, just the date on which you interviewed. I cant imagine they would make the people who interviewed in Abilene on the 15th wait longer than the ones who interviewed in Amarillo on the same date.

I see... Well, I still haven't seen anyone from Abilene say that they got in, so I'm going to assume that Abilene on the 15th didn't count into the first round.

If you guys were reviewed on the fourth and got accepted today, then the next week would be this week, so the next set of people should be hearing from Tech next week.

Sorry, I meant reviewed.

Well, there goes my hope. I'd have felt better if I knew that I hadn't been passed over once already.

knick, i havent heard anything yet either. maybe next week? since we were the second round?

for those that got accepted, did u find out online before you got the letter?
and did both of you get in on the first round 2/8/08?

oh and congrats!!!

I interviewed on the 15th, if that's the second round u were referring to.
I found out on online application today, when Ethyl Methyl called me, hohoho.....:hardy:

Yeah, but you were Amarillo, right? We're still looking for someone on the 15th who interviewed in Abilene.

yeah...I was interviewed at Amarillo.....🙄
dun worry...knickerbocker....there's no way you don't get in and I do...
just give it 1 more week and you will be flying in the sky like me~~~:biglove:

Congratulations to those who are already admitted!

To those still waiting for interviews or white envelopes overstuffed with confetti you'll still find in your apartment when you move to Amarillo/Abilene: I know how this feels, but staying away from the site for several days is probably in your best interests. Just because you interviewed in Abilene doesn't really mean anything. Interviews were conducted there last year as well.

Like I told ya'll before, 23/24 people at the first interview date last year (myself included) are in my class! Not all of them got acceptance letters on the first round... They cannot possibly admit every qualified applicant every admissions committee meeting! I know it's very difficult to accept in the meantime, but what's done is done and you have to do your best to be patient.

Well, that's not necessarily true. You are a better candidate than I am since you were picked in the first round while I was thrown back into the pile.

Just out of curiosity... I had heard something about a possible 30 day acceptance window for ED offers... any of you who got accepted seeing anything about that anywhere? It could be just a rumor.

And Knick you weren't thrown in the back of the pile... no one from Abilene interviews has been accepted to our knowledge. Im a little bothered that Mike Nall seemed to believe Abilene 22nd interviewees would be in the March 4th review but apparently weren't... there is some disconnect somewhere.

that's exactly what i was saying earlier. ED offers will be made up until the 31st... then the Regular admissions offers will be made

I am? 😕

And Achilleus... I was referring to a rumor that if you receive an offer today... you only have 30 days to accept or decline...

I will let you know as soon as I receive my letter in the mail. I was notified online before I received the letter. How it works is that you have to accept online and also sign and send in the formal letter (with $100 deposit) in order to be accepted. It didn't say how long you have to accept/decline online.

They did review Abilene on the 15th; I just didn't get in. Someone from my school who speaks poor English and has a low PCAT got in. Just goes to show what a loser I am.

I just can't take this anymore.

guess im in the same boat 😡

does your online site show anything, Knickerbocker? If you're actually denied, then I guess it should show something like Denied Status or some....I don't know, but just don't be upset now, cuz I think they'll review your applications many more times before this year's season ends for good which is in late April- May ....You still have chances, simply because it's always good that you're in Early admission process!

So, anyway, i'm 22nd round of interview@ Abilene, and no one like me has received anything?

My status has not changed. The fact that my stats are so great has to make you wonder - why was I passed over on a first look? Obviously, something is wrong with me. I get the feeling that I will be passed over in each meeting.

From what everybody says, people on the 22nd haven't been reviewed yet.

quick question guys...is it better to pick an earlier interview date? They just called me yesterday to set up an interview and of course the only ones left for march is on the 17th and then there are the april 11 and 18 interviews. Will my chances decrease the later i interview?

The earlier you interview, the more times your application is reviewed, and the more chances you'll have to be accepted.

Congrats on your interview!! :luck:

has to respond by March 24.

Stay in Houston so we can have lunch once in a while 😀

Thanks! I chose the 11th of April. I'm scheduled to work on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of March so I really couldn't go this Monday. I feel that interviewing late is certainly a disadvantage, but this way, I can also prepare for the interview. Otherwise, I would only have a three days to prepare since I would have to leave the day before for the interview. But I'm just happy I got an interview spot!🙂

Pros for TSU:
You won't have to move (twice, in the case of Tech)
Lots of stuff you can't find in Amarillo (ethnic food, cool stores, etc.)

Pros for Tech:
School has a better Naplex passing rate and isn't on probation

Basically, if you care the most about the school itself, I'd say go for Tech. If location is a big issue, then TSU should be your choice.

So evildarklord, redley, and myself were in the 22nd Abilene group and none of us have any news yet from what i can see.

Knick... I'm starting to fear the curse of the 99.

It drives me nuts that the person that I mentioned earlier was trying to get into medical school for years. I think he was still working on retaking the MCAT when I took the PCAT. I'm not sure he even had any pharmacy experience.

I wonder if we are destined for A&M.

Thanks for the opinion~~😉
But both living environment and quality of education are important to me....🙁
I dun know where to choose......ahahahah.....
