    Hi, All.

I'm planning on applying this year and am trying to ascertain what the average/recommended number of programs people apply to? I don't want to take any chances on this ...

    Thanks!

    This highly depends on your
    A) application (stats, letters, etc)
    B) finances (ability to afford the costs of the application, and the tuition costs of the programs to which you are applying)
    C) geographic flexibility (East coast? California? Anywhere?)
    D) type of program you're looking for (degree granting, etc)

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say most people apply to 2-5 programs.

Most people I know apply to 2-4 programs, and that was the recommendation from my career services office.
