Hi everyone. I have been accepted to U Conn, Med College of Wisconsin, Mt. Sinai (waitlisted) and Boston University. I just don't know where to go. I am trying to gather more info about each school so I can begin to decide where I would be happy. If any of you can comment on the following concepts, that would be fabulous. These are things that I feel would help med decide where to go.

- Lectures given to you in powerpoint form at the beginning of the semester
- Hours spent in class each day (including labs and such)
- Lectures online
- Testing schedule (ie: once a month tests are clumped together during one week)
- Price of a one bedroom apartment near the school

Thank you all so much!! I truly appreciate any input you may have about these schools. I just don't know how to decide!!

Don't forget to look at the quality of the clinical education. Sorry, I don't know anything about your programs. Good luck choosing!

I can try to help you out with MCW.
-Lectures are placed on each class website in powerpoint format either at the start of the semester or as the lectures are given. Some lecturers refuse to place their lectures online for various reasons, but this is rare.
-Variable. First semester we probably spent 5-6 hours/day in class including gross lab. This semester it's a long day if we're there past noon (3-4 hours).
-Lectures are online in powerpoint, and mp3 files of each lecture is placed online the day the lecture is given for you to download. I imagine this would be very nice for the home schoolers.
-1st year is a block test schedule. 4-5 blocks of tests over the semester, approx. 1 block/month. You have a whole week during the tests where you are not in class, only taking tests. Pretty nice if you ask me.
-A one bedroom apt. near school would probably run you somewhere from 600-800 I think. This is probably the question I know the least about.

Anyways, feel free to reply on this thread or drop me a PM if you would like more detail on these answers or any other info on MCW. Hope to see you in the fall! 😉
