Do you guys think University of Michigan will be giving out more pre-Dec interviews?

I don't know. I called in about a week or two ago and the nice woman on the line said that they were still sending out interviews. I am in state with good stats, but low hours (100 hour requirement).
No interview yet... That is the unfortunate part of having an in-state school that only accepts 60% in state and favors females and international students...

I wouldn't be too worried. A lot of applicants received invites throughout the month of october for pre-dec interviews

I am a male with just above average stats, in-state, and I had under 100 hrs (80 something) I would not worry to much Im sure you will get an interview.

I haven't heard ANYTHING from michigan other than "submit your app fee now" email a while back.. 🙁

I would just wait. I know people in the past few years who have gotten the email for a pre-december invite in late october and even into mid November.
I was at the interview on october 5th. I just wanted to share with everyone that I was very impressed by their curriculum and the facilities.....
Also, the admissions told us that they only interview a total of 300 applicants ( pre & post december) out of 2300 ish applicants. So be very proud if you get invited and enjoy your time at the school!

Just wanted to point out that your last point is pretty inaccurate. By the ADEA book, they took 2 internationals (South Korea) out of a class of 108, meaning 1.8% of the class. There were 5 identified as 'no state', but even if those were int'l, it would still only be 6.4% of the class. Hardly "favouring" internationals.
As for favouring women, 56 of 108 enrolees were women, meaning 51%. Yeah more men apply, but I'd hardly call that a strong bias, especially considering how most other school are skewed much farther in favour of men. And we also know nothing about the stats of these people.
Also about the in-state part: 75/108 = 69%.
I really hope I get to be one of them *crossin fingers*

scheduled mine for nov. 16th, since i have Roseman on the 9th. 🙂 Got the email today as well ! Yay!. ANd for the rest of ya'll dont worry! they will be sending out invites for Nov. 16th within the next few weeks! then after that it'll be interview for January! I talked to Michelle today at UM Office of Admissions.

If I'm not mistaken, they interview 60 students per day. 30 in one group, and then 30 in another.
No, they interview 30 students per day. Their interview lasts the whole day, from 8:30 to 3:30. At times, you are divided into a group of 10 students so it isnt too bad at all.

No, I already interviewed at U of M on Oct. 5 so I know this. I think you are getting mixed up. Reread your email.
In our itinerary, it says:
Group 1 (30 candidates) ... ... Group 2 (30 candidates)
It's possible they did 15 candidates in each group during your interview and now they've gained more momentum.
This scenario reminds me of an exercise done at my brother's Montessori school:
They put a board on a desk between two students and they have them say what color it is. One student said that it was black and the other student argued that it was clearly white. The two children argued about it. Then the teacher turned the board to the side and they discovered that the board was black on one side and white on the other. 😀
Well I guess they have made a change. I am just telling you what it was like when I was at the interview...

should be sending out interviews for Nov. 16th. the Last Pre-Dec interviews. And it hasnt technically opened yet. so I'm sure they still sending out those 60 or less invites for Nov. 16th.

State schools favor females and international students?? ---> that is just a bogus statement. It is true that some schools have a higher female student population, others however have a higher male population. It boils down to stats, your interview abilities and where you choose to matriculate. However, there are schools that cater to the URM and those are schools like Howard. Get your facts straight darling.
Be thankful that you have a state school. University of Michigan accepts ~1/3 of in-staters who apply. You have a great opportunity to attend one of the best schools in the country; you just have to meet their student standards.
A school will always try to establish a gender balance and a state school will always favor in-staters. I have similar stats as you; I'm male and OOS to boot. I received a pre-Dec interview. There's still one more cohort they're giving pre-Dec invites to; who knows, you might get lucky. If you don't get a pre-Dec interview, it may be due to your low shadowing hours (56) rather than U of M conspiring against white male Michiganers.

sadly they are done 🙁 with pre-dec interviews. They are using the following weeks of the holiday to decide on acceptances of the pre-dec interviews 🙁. the last 4 interview dates will proceed one January starts I believe. Good luck! It is one GREAT school.
