They didn't specify which one it was, just "an entrance scholarship" - and it wasn't much (I don't think they give very much anyway). I don't know about requirements either. It just said, "Congratulations, you get a scholarship!"... I didn't feel the need to ask any questions. :)

GPA: 8.9 at York (not too sure how it converts)
PCAT: 98 Composite, 3/3 Writing

Hello everyone:

I am planning to apply for U of T Pharmacy 2011 cycle. Here's my June 2010 PCAT score:

Verbal: 20
Biology: 71
Reading: 69
Quantitative: 90
Chemistry: 88
Composite: 74
Writing: 3/3

With this horrible PCAT score will I be invited to the interview next year?

Hey Doublebond, you will be invited for an interview unless they change the pcat cutoffs. I had very similar pcat scores, but about a 32 in reading and an 80 in biology. I have a 87 avg and I think I did well on the interview and I got accepted. So you can still definitely get in with those scores.

Good Luck!

can anyone estimate as to how many spots the waiting list moved?

When are the 2011 pharmacy application open?
does anyone know?

I thought it was by mid september that the applications were up??
I may be wrong..

i think applications open this mid sept (according to new updates on the website)

number of appliants will be about the same...i think since applications open so early and ppl who used to apply waterloo can now apply to uoft with pcat and similar prerequisites

im selling my dr.colin pcat study guide.
PM me if you are interested. I am selling mine at a low price.

from what i have observed,
if you want to get in with a low 70's on PCAT,
then you need to have at least a 3.5 cGPA to get in.

same goes for the other way around
if you have a 3.0 cgpa, then you need to pull 80's on the PCAT.

my frd got in with a low 70's PCAT but he had a 3.6 cGPA and a degree.
a lot of other ppl got in with 70's in cGPA, but their PCATs were in the 80's.

so yeah.. it depends.

your forgetting to take into account the interview...

hi

above stats include interview compenent into consideration
it will be difficult to gain admission if you have low-mid 70's in both cGPA and PCAT. interview itself cant overcome this situations.

thus,
you would need to do at least 2 components (out of cGPA [3.5-ish], PCAT [80's], and interview[unknown]) above average to be selected.

I am not an admission person !
so this is my personal research results through 4 years while at uoft.

good luck everybody

I think the number of applicants will drop for two reasons this year.
1- No first years applying due to increased academic requirements.
2- Pharmacy cuts by the fiberals making pharmacy less attractive to students in Ontario

Good luck to everyone!
