omg. so i just saw the little character thing at the very top of the application and my essays are all too long right now. i tried pasting into the box and it let me paste way past the character limit. what am i to make of this? do i really need to par my essays down or do they stop reading when it gets past the character limit?

If it's anything like last year's, it won't let you submit the form if your essays are over the limit. They aren't looking for prose, just be succinct in your answers. They know the character limits are there and that that will result in less than Shakesperean writing 🙂 Hey, be glad they're trying to make it easy on you!

I can be a rule breaker myself but why would want to deliberately ignore their directions?
I ended up cutting almost all my adverbs and such to make my essays fit. Not necessarily pretty but to specification.
