UB Hold list/waiting list

Hello,

I was wondering what the difference in UB waiting list and hold list. I know some of my friends got placed in the hold list so does that mean their chances of getting in is not high since acceptance go thru the waiting list first?

The hold list is a separate waiting list. The wait list applicants are considered for open spots before the hold list. If admissions needs to consider applicants beyond the wait list the students on the hold list will be considered.

i heard that not all the ppl on the waiting list gets in so that means theres a very low chance for those in the hold list to get in then..?

What is the point of a hold list? Why not just add those people to the waitlist and then rank the waitlist. I know that UB says the waitlist isn't ranked, but I was just wondering how do they decide in what order to pull people off the list if it isn't ranked? Its miserable being on the waitlist since December, I can't imagine how the hold list must feel.

Does anyone know when the next round of interviews will be? I heard July, but that seems like a really long time to wait.

omg, they have a hold list too/?? Honestly -- they have THREE DIFFERENT LISTS? these people are crazy.
