This is the status page but if you are waitlisted you won't know where you are on the list untill you call Mr. Rosso and ask where you are listed!!!

you call call by the following day! so if you were on the 3/7 day, your decision is being made already!

No Action means that no decision has been made. However, a decision will be made by next week. If you are waitlisted be sure to call Mr. Rosso to find out where you ranked.

I interviewed on Wednesday, too - and my status page still says "No Action." However, I'm impatient, and called Admissions - and they told me over the phone that I was accepted!

Call them! They're so nice, and don't seem at all bothered or annoyed to hear from us.

I'm bottom third, guess that means I won't be accepted (unless there's movement) 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

and i loved the school 🙁
 
I interviewed on Wednesday also...I am also waitlisted. The office told me I am in the middle third of the waitlist (kinda in no man's land). I would've started celebrating if I was in the top third. They did say that depending on the quality of subsequent interviewees, there is a possibility to move either up or down the waitlist rankings.

I had great interviews and both went about 30 minutes overtime where I got alot of positive feedback from the interviewers. I really loved the school! Everone is so supportive and there is a great sense of comradery there. I was really hoping for either an acceptance or being in the top 1/3 🙁 I hope we middle 1/3 people move up to the top 1/3 later on the season.

Hi UCSDSkippy. Were you the girl that was staying at the Holiday Inn and took the shuttle with me in the morning? I had alot of fun meeting everyone also and I totally agree with you....if the type of people at the interviews are indicative of the student population there then it will be a great class. Hey there! Yeh I was lucky that I had booked the latest flight outta there (6.45pm). My interviews went up till around 4.30 so I got kinda worried. Luckily there was no traffic and I flew continental (no lines). It was a real pleasure meeting you and I hope we will be future classmates! I really loved the school...I thought everyone there including the professors, students and interviewees were all so cool. I just hope I either stay where I am on the waitlist or move up...not down. Best of luck to you also! Let me know when you get the good news in April/May!

LOL US AIRWAYS IS THE WORST! My sister did her undergrad at buffalo.. they were delayed EVERY SINGLE TIME and they LIE about why!!!! They always claimed it was "weather related," even when the weather was clear both at buffalo and NYC, where we live!!!

Crap... I fly there tomorrow (or I guess later this morning technically) on US airways.

What did everyone think about the interviews there? This is actually my first one for med school (had some professional job interviews before), so I am nervous 😱

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you 🙁...good luck on it. And don't let the dean intimidate you if he's your interviewer. He was my first interview (of 2 at buffalo), and my first interview for any med school also...I was intimidated and nervous and screwed up my interview with him..

Does anyone know in previous years how far in the waitlist do they go? Is being in the bottom 1/3 pretty much a rejection? Can we find out about how we are positioned within that third? I did a quick search about this and found out that some people were in fact accepted after being put in the bottom 1/3, but do you guys know if this was a significant number? or just a few lucky people? I'm getting fustrated collecting those waitlist letters (6 so far) arghhhhhhh........

I hear ya - I'm collecting waitlist letters too and also sit in that dreaded lower third. From everything I've heard, upper third is pretty much a lock. Middle third they sometimes get all the way through, sometimes only halfway or so. I think it's very rare that they take more than a few off of the bottom third. Given that, I'm basically chalking UBuffalo up to a rejection. That being said, I'm certainly not going to withdraw my application until I get in somewhere else, because there's always that tiny chance I might actually beat the odds...

Bottom line: In the bottom third, I wouldn't get your hopes up about getting in... Focus your hopes on one of your other waitlists.

Didn't they get to the upper few people in the lower third in the past 2 years? Hopefully they will follow this historical trend and continue with this. The only problem with this is that you don't get the phone call till pretty late (June/July).

You could be right, I'm just going on what people have said on these forums. Either way, even if they have gone that deep the past two years, I'm sure it was no more than a few people off the bottom third... Not enough to get my hopes up about getting accepted from that position.

I called yesterday to check if I was still in the bottom third, and it wasn't Mr. Rosso who answered. Whomever it was, with extra questioning they did say I was in the top third of the bottom third. Maybe if you call and ask you will get the same person!

Did this happen to anyone else?
 
I called today. Still on the bottom third. The person at the admin office wouldn't tell me where in that third.

The ranking of the bottom third seems like a contest to find the tallest midget.
 
Anyone interviewing tomorrow at UB? For those that interviewed in the past, what time did you get out of there in the afternoon? Were most peoples' interviews pretty laid back and unstressful or did anyone get their a$$ handed to them?
 
For what it's worth, I'm about 98% certain I won't be taking a spot at U Buffalo, so my upper third spot will go vacant. To all those in the middle third, you've got a good shot, and from what I hear, don't rule out hope in the bottom. Good luck! (And upper third = late acceptance of course)

Good 😀 I hope I get into the upper two thirds of the waitlist after tomorrow, because right now I don't have a single acceptance (Im waiting on 4 other schools though still)

i am really excited about interviewing at buffalo but my interview is not for another month, does anyone know if this is an automatic waitlist?

I actually know it is not only for waitlist. When I interviewed, Dr. Severin told us that they keep open spots right up until the last interview. So, no matter when you go, you'll be interviewing for an actual spot in the class. Good luck to ya. Hope you do better than I did.
